Eli Manning Brother

Eli Manning Brother, Peyton Manning was so proud of his little brother, that he wanted to make sure Eli Manning got all the credit he deserved for the Giants’ Super Bowl XLVI win.

Yes, Mario Manningham made a fantastic catch on the pivotal 38-yard play down the sideline that keyed the Giants’ 21-17 win against the Patriots. But after the game, Peyton Manning was raving to his brother about the throw.

“He was mad, he said everybody was talking about how great of a catch it was,” Eli Manning said this morning, as he accepted the MVP trophy. “He said it was a pretty good throw, also. It’s a brother looking out for me. He was proud of me and happy for me.”

Eli Manning has now won two Super Bowl rings, one more than Peyton Manning has earned with the Colts. But Eli Manning said that comparison was the furthest thing from his mind on this joyful day.

“This isn’t about bragging rights. This is a lot bigger,” Eli Manning said. “This is about a team, an organization being named world champions, and that was the ultimate goal. That’s the only thing that’s important, is the team finding a way to get a victory. That’s the only thing I care about, and Peyton and I both know that’s what the goal is every year. It’s not about anything else.”

The brothers got to spend time together after the victory in the city and stadium where Peyton Manning is royalty. They rehashed the game in the way perhaps only they can.

Along with the Manningham throw and catch, Peyton Manning also pressed his brother on the 2-yard touchdown pass to Victor Cruz just past linebacker Jerod Mayo.

“He asked me if I saw the middle linebacker running out there, and I didn’t,” Manning said. “He can see there and tell it how it looks. It was ‘single-high’ and he kind of jabbed to my right a little bit before running left and looking up Victor. Under center, you know they’re bringing a blitz. It is tough to see that, but luckily, he never looked back at me and I threw it right off his shoulder and Victor did a good job of concentrating and making the catch.”
