Earthquake In Puerto Rico, Two strong earthquakes have struck Puerto Rico within minutes of each other.

The quakes, with magnitudes of 5.1 and 5.3 respectively, occurred three minutes apart just after 2 a.m. local time Saturday in the Mona Passage, just to the west of the island. A smaller aftershock was reported a few minutes later.

There were no immediate reports of damage.

Puerto Rico Earthquake, An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 struck Puerto Rico on Friday, rattling residents but causing no immediate reports of damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake, which occurred at 19:43 (6:43 EST), blocked about 15 miles (25 kilometers) south of San Juan. It was about 64 miles deep, the USGS said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

A Federal Aviation Administration official said the international airport of San Juan was open and functioning normally.

He was a strong earthquake and forced people to leave their homes to seek protection. People were very afraid and concerned about the earthquake that struck the city.

According to the United States Geological Survey in the city of Moca was the epicenter of the earthquake. People were enjoying the weekend and returning from the night parties met in open places. Some shocks were felt throughout the island, as well as on the islands of Vieques, St. Croix, Culebra and the rest of the Virgin Islands.

The 5.7 earthquake jolted buildings and parts of the city reported loss of energy. According to a report:

“Araceli Vega, a nurse at the hospital said she was treating a patient when he felt the building rattle, followed by a brief moment of fear and confusion.”

Earthquake was also felt with great intensity in Patillas, Guayama, Santa Isabel, Humacao, Ceiba, Fajardo and Rio Grande.

One report says that after the earthquake a tsunami warning was issued. Some agencies issued the warning of earthquakes minutes before its occurrence. He was a strong earthquake and that people fear that the time that the earthquake would have been fatal. There are no reported injuries and casualties have been received yet. Another report says that no announcement of a tsunami warning from the time.
