Drake AaliyahDrake Aaliyah, Drake has made his respect for the late R&B singer Aaliyah permanent in the form of a tattoo of the singer’s face on his back. Fresh Like Dougie managed to find a photograph of the Canadian singer playing tennis with several friends, and, it appears that he’s marked his fandom with ink, although Drake’s face was turned away from the camera.

Drake previously addressed the late singer in a letter after she passed away where he wrote of the impact that Aaliyah had made on him. “Dear Dana, I’ve never lost a parent, a friend, or a lover but I will never forget this day for the rest of my life. I remember getting the news that you had passed and it connected with my heart like a clean shot from Muhammad Ali. I was crushed,” Drake writes.

The rapper indicated the degree of his respect for Aaliyah when he sampled ‘(At Your Best) You Are Love’ on his track ‘Unforgettable’ off of his debut studio album ‘Thank Me Later,’ and once tweeted to fans, “I miss Aaliyah.”

The photograph appears to have originated on the Drake fan website DrizzyDrake.org along with another photo of what looks to be the rapper taking a swing at a tennis ball, although neither photograph offers a very clear view of Drake’s face.

Drizzy recently responded to one of his fans who tattooed his name on her forehead indicating that he understood her motivations but felt that the tat was “crazy” and “surreal.” The singer added that the artists responsible for her tat should lose his job before going on to threaten the tattoist saying, “If I ever see you I’m going to fuck you up.” It seems his issue with the tattoo was merely its location.
