Dave Matthews BandDave Matthews Band: (New York Post) — Aa goofy as Dave Matthews on stage – with extravagant dance steps chicken-on-a-hot plate, let alone between his teeth like Popeye beating and

its crazy tenor vocal sweeps – he and his band of the same name

experts when it comes to construction of raw energy.

Last night at Citi Field, Matthews and company provided a murderer concert for more than 42,000 fans, taking full advantage of their songs from their first album, “Under the Table and Dreaming” to last year’s Grammy

Album of the Year nominee, “Big Whiskey and King GrooGrux.”

No matter if the tuner in the set were new or old – each

song of the band had established a built-in freshness due to

jam band treatment. Jazz / rock improvisation was at the center of

songs like “Do not Drink The Water”, “Lying In The Hands

God “and the beloved” Jimi Thing. ”

The improvised riff was a sure way to keep the music interesting to both fans and the band. Unpredictable quality of the results certainly did not sound rehearsed, but there was a noticeable tension in the regime showed Jam Band ESP.

Last night show was also a challenge to Matthews, he was a stadium event played as a return to the basics of concerts that are based on the music instead of staging frantic activity to carry the show. Sound-wise, the Citi Field is a place for music second class compared to the new Meadowlands stadium, but the band managed plugging, tuning and turning on the house.

The band usually plays Matthews New York every summer. Even with the echo-filled sound inferior, this show was special because the recent announcement that the band takes a break year. If I had to

Judge of the concert part, as in 2012, ending the tour resumed, New York, Dave fans jonesing to help another jam-band Balay.

Matthews continues tonight at Citi Field. Tickets are sold out, doors open at 5, DMB continues at 8:20.
