Reggie Bush PracticeReggie Bush Practice, The Miami Dolphins practiced without two key starters on Thursday, raising the possibility that tailback Reggie Bush and inside linebacker Karlos Dansby won’t play in Sunday’s season finale against the New York Jets.
Bush, who leads the team with 1,086 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, suffered a knee injury late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots. Even though he’s walking without a limp, and labeled the injury as minor after the game, its alarming that Bush hasn’t participated in practice this week.
Dansby missed Wednesday’s session too, but the team claims his absence isn’t injury related.
Dansby, who is second on the team with 101 tackles, was replaced by Marvin Mitchell, and that’s who will likely start in his place if eight year veteran isn’t able to play.
Mitchell has filled in from time to time, contributing 13 tackles, one sack and two quarterbacks hits this season. He played a series last week when Kevin Burnett was sidelined by a shoulder injury.
Bush’s replacement would likely be rookie Daniel Thomas, who was limited on Wednesday because of a right knee injury he suffered against New England.
Thomas, who has gained 553 yards on 153 carries, practiced on Thursday, but is wearing a knee brace….
Rookie cornerback Jimmy Wilson sat out practice because of a hamstring injury he’s rehabbing….
Cornerback Vontae Davis, who injured his left elbow against the Patriots, practiced for the second straight day with a brace on his elbow….
Brandon Marshall (knee) and Clyde Gates (groin) participated in Thursday’s practice, but its possible their involvement was limited because of their injuries.
