Detroit PistonsDetroit Pistons, In a bowling fundraiser on Monday night, Detroit Pistons power forward Charlie Villanueva said it was hard not being on the basketball floor by blocking the NBA.

“It’s definitely frustrating, no doubt,” Villanueva said before picking up a bowling ball for her charity, Charlie Villanueva Foundation. “I want to play. Kids want to play basketball. I’ve been doing for a long time, so I just want to get out there and the rim.”

But at the same time, Villanueva know it’s a business, and to maintain the pace of negotiations in New York. He knows the struggle for basketball related income (BRI) and the insistence of the Association of National Basketball Players to keep at least 52% of it. The owners are trying to negotiate a 50-50 split.

Villanueva said the union should not cave considering other concessions on issues such as the luxury tax. He said he is totally behind the negotiating team and NBPA President Derek Fisher Los Angeles Lakers, NBPA executive director Billy Hunter, among others.

“Let’s stay together, and we will take a position,” said Villanueva. “Let’s stick together and try to get the best deal possible. I am in favor of the union at all, and I think most of our guys are taking this approach, taking that position.

“Obviously, I do not lose a year. Obviously, I want to play ball. But if (losing games and paychecks) what is going to have to make, I’m ready for that. I have been preparing for this financial concerns. If that’s what will happen, then that’s what needs to be done so that we can get a good deal on the table. ”

Villanueva is stay in shape for the current state of the art gym mate Ben Gordon and playing with his fellow Rodney Stuckey collection and Jonas Jerebko and former Michigan State star, Charlie Bell, who plays for the Golden State Warriors.

Villanueva also played for the Dominican Republic during the summer in the FIBA ??Americas tournament, where he was bothered by an Achilles injury. He says it’s okay.

He also said that the blockade is a blessing in a way you can spend more time with his son, who lives in Canada.

Meanwhile, Villanueva is still playing the waiting game.
