Daphne Guinness Brewery Heiress

Daphne Guinness Brewery Heiress, Back in 2010, beer heiress/artist/designer/socialite Daphne Guinness was in hot water with her neighbors over the repeated flooding of their downstairs apartment at 995 Fifth Avenue. Lawsuits soon followed, including one asking for “$1 million to take care of repairs and ‘mental anguish,'” but Guinness waited until now to cut and run from the place, which was outfitted in the height of over-the-top opulence by designer Daniel Romualdez.

The listing photos—which are torn directly from the pages of Architectural Digest—show off an art-filled apartment, but miss the Versailles-esque mirrored hallway and the Damien Hirst butterfly painting in the foyer. Listed for $14M, the 4,118-square-food spread occupies the coveted northeast corner of the Stanhope, with views of the Metropolitan Museum and Central Park, and includes four bedrooms and 4.5 baths.

It seems the heiress isn’t so concerned with turning a profit, as she is believed to have paid close to the $15.5M asking price back in 2008, but it is unclear if that price included the staff studio, which is currently listed separately for $1.5M. Pricey indeed, but at the Stanhope, it’s the common charges that will really put a dent in the buyers wallet, to the tune of $17,950 per month.
