Danica Mckellar, Danica McKellar, best known as Winnie Cooper from the 1980s show “The Wonder Years” and Olympic speed skater Appolo Ohno will co-star in an upcoming Syfy network made-for-television movie, “Tasmanian Devil.”
The Network made the announcement on Friday, adding that production on the film will begin this month in British Columbia.

The film will also star Kenneth Mitchell, who appeared in the post-apocalyptic series “Jericho” as Deputy Mayor Eric Green.

According to the press release, the film follows a group of BASE jumpers who travel to a remote Tasmanian national park, where they are pursued by grizzly bear-sized Tasmanian Devils who protect the land from intruders.

Ohno won gold medals at the 2002 and 2006 Olympic games and appeared on season four of ABC’s reality dancing competition, “Dancing With The Stars” in 2007, winning the mirror ball trophy with partner Julianne Hough.

McKellar rose to fame in the late 1980s when she played the childhood crush of Kevin Arnold in the coming-of-age 1960s era drama series “The Wonder Years”. In recent years, she appeared on contemporary sitcoms such as “How I Met Your Mother” and “The Big Bang Theory.”

McKellar still acts occasionally and has penned several math books, including “Math Doesn’t Suck: How to Survive Middle-School Math Without Losing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail” and her most recent publication, “Hot X: Algebra Exposed”.

McKellar, 36, welcomed her first son Draco in September 2010. The actress married her husband, composer Mike Verta in March 2009.
