Kent Turene, Linebacker Kent Turenne, who with a release from USC the weekend, has signed with Georgia on Wednesday morning. The 6 feet 3 inches, 225 pounds linebacker Boyd Anderson High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., committed to USC seven months ago, but opened his recruitment after visiting Bulldogs, Texas Tech and Nebraska in January.

Turenne, which would have added depth to a position much more necessary for the Trojans, entered the room with a hat from Texas Tech before throwing out a hat and entering Georgia. He is listed as a four-star linebacker to the outside by ESPN and is a three star recruit at linebacker, according to Scout and Rivals.

A 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Turenne reports for posting a hat Texas Tech – the other school in competition with Georgia and USC – but his letter of intent was sent to late morning Wednesday at the offices of football in Georgia, and the day keeps getting better for Mark Richt and company. The native of Lake Lauderdale, Florida, should be a welcome sight to a linebacking corps that lost Darryl Gamble, Akeem Dent, Justin Houston and Marcus Dowtin.

Turenne decision came in response to highly touted defensive back and linebacker Malcolm Mitchell Ramik Wilson signed with the Bulldogs.

UPDATE: After the surprise engagement Turenne, the upper end tension in the country, Jay Rome, sent his papers in the offices of Georgia football. Rome, Mitchell’s teammate at Valdosta High School, was the latest big name to commit to the left edge of Georgia not signed Wednesday morning.

Rome is considered by many screening services are physical and athletic enough to compete immediately for playing time next season. FL linebacker Kent Turenne. I think Turenne is one of the steals of the class, as I will explain in an upcoming feature on him TMI. Turenne is also a good example of recruitment services that can go wrong in the assessment of the prospect, at least in the opinion of this blogger. Stay tuned for that. Turenne also confirms the commitment rule National Signing Day # 76: Never leave a recruit in a funny hat.

Brent Calloway

Brent Calloway, On the strength of fly Brent Calloway Auburn, Alabama moves up to No. 3. Clemson, after Stephon Anthony Steward and to sign, rises to No. 4. USC remains at No. 5, while the blades in Auburn No. 7.Florida State is still ranked No. 2, but it is very close to exceeding the fight against Ireland. If the Seminoles landed linebacker Tony Stewart, they would be the No. 1 right now.It was back and forth for a while with a lot of discussion about whether he would play running back or linebacker in college. This has been a big part of his indecision, as Auburn told him about the possibility of playing running back on the Plains.

Something says that the fighting between Alabama and Auburn will recruit more intense in coming years.
The ESPNU 150 prospect signed with the Crimson Tide on Wednesday. He was originally committed to Alabama goes all the way back to April, but things happen to the bowl of the U.S. Army All-America last month when he announced he would instead sign with Auburn.

Continuing its ability to shock an entire state, coveted four-star athlete Brent Calloway made his third college choice in less than a month – and this time it is binding.

The talented running back / linebacker from Russellville, Ala., has signed his national letter of intent Wednesday to play at Alabama, ending a contentious battle between the Crimson Tide and Auburn.

Calloway had committed to Alabama after his junior season and went through all of 2010 – including his entire senior season and his invitation to the Game U.S. Army All-American – as a lock for the Crimson Tide.

That is, until January 8, when Calloway came out publicly and surprised the coaching staff at Alabama from his commitment to Auburn.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound dual threat at the time said that the culture of Alabama linebackers were too deep for him to compete, and Calloway gave Auburn a better chance of running back to the next level. The switch also helped vault Auburn in the top tier of national recruiting classes for 2011.

The best hope of Alabama announced on national television during the game the U.S. Army last month that he was switching his commitment from Alabama to Auburn. When he returned home, his Facebook page has been lit up like the Fourth of July.

“I had to say things they hope I break my legs,” said the TimesDaily Calloway. “I’ve had death threats. They hope that I lose my scholarship. A bunch of crazy stuff. ”

And for what? The hope of winning a few football games? An opportunity to brag around the water cooler?

People should be given IQ tests to use social networking media in the same way they give driving tests to be allowed to drive a car. If you’re too stupid to know what common decency, buy a stamp and send a letter like the old days.

The waiting game is bluer with a trend of blue-chippers. Terrell Pryor expected in March before signing with Ohio State in 2008. Bryce Brown and Seantrel Henderson did the same thing last year.

Will Clowney learn something new in the next two weeks will shape his decision? Or does he want all the attention to himself?

Football coaches preach until they are blue in the face that the player you are bigger than the team. And yet they hold scholarships for blue-chipper and I wonder why they come to college with a sense of entitlement.

Isaiah Crowell

Isaiah Crowell, The University of Georgia head coach Mark Richt football holding their collective breath, hoping that ESPN’s five-star running back Isaiah Crowell will choose to play between the hedges in Athens in the fall. The native of Columbus, GA, is the No. 1 running back in the nation, ESPN and No. 4 players together. Crowell (5’11 “, 210) is the only rookie RB class hopes in 2011 for UGA. If he decided to sign a letter of intent with his other apparent first choice, the University of Alabama, he would leave a huge hole in Mark Richt’s Dream Team recruitment year.

Currently, UGA rushing game, consisting mainly of Washaun Ealey and Caleb King is ranked No. 10 in the SEC (which has only 12 teams, remember) and 73 in the nation. The Bulldogs are weak in the running game, no doubt, and need the talents of Crowell, who has been compared by many analysts to Michael Dyer Auburn and South Carolina’s Marcus Lattimore.

Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Mike Farrell told the Athens Banner-Herald, “If they are not Crowell, there is a huge glaring weakness in this class. Running back is probably the most important position of need in this class. ”

Wednesday will be a huge day for the Bulldogs, who are already walking towards the finish line. The nation’s top running back prospect, Isaiah Crowell (Columbus, Ga.), linebacker Kent Turenne (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) and defensive linemen Jeoffrey Pagan (Asheville, North Carolina) and John Jenkins (Mississippi Gulf Coast College) remain strong possibilities. Take these potential signatories above perspectives Top100 Malcolm Mitchell, Jay Rome (Valdosta, Ga.) and Drew Ray (Thomasville, GA) – have all committed to the Bulldogs in recent weeks – and that’s impressive finish recruitment Mark Richt and staff of Georgia.

Roughly one day that Wednesday is for Georgia, it is equally important to the Crimson Tide. Kouandjio is scheduled to make its announcement around 9:00 one of two “franchise players” in the recruitment cycle based 247Sports, Kouandjio expected to recover by the tide or Auburn. Alabama fans will also watch the ads and Crowell Pagan and mindful of the decision Nickolas Brassell (Batesville, Miss.). February 14, Alabama know if there is no one-nation perspective, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (Rock Hill, SC). It seems Clowney decision will down by the tide or South Carolina.
