Stephone Anthony, The Gators had already missed one. Wadesboro (NC) outside linebacker Stephon Anson Anthony, scored best at his position by ESPN, signed with Clemson. Anthony also considered North Carolina and Virginia Tech. “When I went to my formal, it all went well, it worked well,” said Anthony. “It suits me.”

The Gators were off to the land of the 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, LB, but Anthony has continued to consider Florida because new coach Muschamp retained linebackers coach DJ Durkin. Durkin has been the main recruiter of Anthony.
Anson (Wadesboro, NC) outside linebacker Stephon Anthony listed as the fourth-best recruit in the Top 100 MaxPreps said Wednesday afternoon he would play for Clemson.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound senior had also visited Florida, Virginia Tech and North Carolina. His cousin, Barquell River, plays linebacker at Virginia Tech.

Anthony has recorded 123 tackles (16 for loss), four sacks and two interceptions and also played offense and special teams. At running back he rushed for 302 yards and seven touchdowns on 50 carries, and he returned 14 kickoffs for 498 yards. Anthony decision on the commitment of linebacker Tony Steward Menendez (St. Augustine, Florida) Maxpreps’ No. 6 prospect overall, which also took Clemson today.
Clemson three signatories were Parade All-Americans. Stephon Mike Bellamy and Anthony were the first team and Lateek Townsend was the second team.
Clemson signed four players who were the first or second-team USA Today All-Americans, the most in one year in the history of the recruit school (USA Today teams dates back to 1982). Stephon Anthony and Tony Stewart were two of the top three teams in USA Today All-Americans at linebacker while Mike Bellamy and Charon Peake were second team selections. The previous record for USA Today first or second team all-Americans by a class of three Clemson was established in 1987, 1988, 1989 and 2006.
Clemson signed four players who played in the U.S. Army All-American game in San Antonio (Charon Peake, Sammy Watkins, and Tony Stewart Townsend Lateek). Three signatories played in the Under Armour All-America game in Orlando (Mike Bellamy, Anthony Spencer and Stephon Region.)
