Cupertino ShootingCupertino Shooting, Authorities searched Wednesday for a man they say killed two and wounded six in the limestone quarry in northern California, where he worked, and may also have shot a woman in an attempted carjacking after.
The disgruntled employee opened fire at a security meeting at the quarry Standing about 4 am Wednesday, a spokesman for Santa Clara County Sheriff Joseph Cardoza said.

He used a pistol and a rifle, then left the meeting and started walking around the grounds of the quarry owned by the Lehigh Southwest Cement Company, about 15 miles west of San Jose.

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, spokeswoman Joy Alexiou said the hospital received two of the victims, who were in good condition and clean. Their names and the extent of their injuries were not immediately released.

One victim was taken to the emergency room at University Medical Center Stanford in Palo Alto, spokeswoman Paula Zimlicki.

The hospital can not give any details about the patient or the patient’s injuries, he said.

Authorities identified the suspect as 45-year-old Shareef Allman.

Later Wednesday morning, a woman was shot in a carjacking was a man matching the description of Allman, authorities said.

The woman was shot at an intersection in Cupertino by the suspect, who fled on foot, said Cardoza. The suspect used a similar weapon to the gun used in the quarry shoot, he said.

The victim was taken to hospital. His condition is unknown. According to the website of the County of Santa Clara, Permanent Quarry is a process to extract limestone and aggregates and cement plants located in the foothills above Cupertino.
