World Series Game 2, Giants’ Matt Cain and CJ Wilson Rangers were locked in a pitching duel early after three scoreless innings in Game 2 of World Series Thursday night at the AT & T Park in San Francisco.

Cain tried to help his own cause in the third inning with one out single from Wilson, but Andres Torres flied out and Freddy Sanchez failed.

After Cain retired the first seven Rangers he faced in the Texas first baseman Mitch Moreland was finally beaten by the Rangers for the first time in the top of the third inning, singled to right field.

Moreland reached second base on Wilson’s sacrifice bunt, but failed Elvis Andrus singled to center field.

With the Giants win on Wednesday night, 11-7, the Rangers need a win to avoid dropping the first two games at the best of seven series.
