Week 11 College Football Rankings Altered in Coaches Poll
the college football schedule this weekend that will directly affect all of the polls, but the week 11 Coaches Poll is still surprisingly different than one would have expected. When Alabama knocked off LSU on Saturday, it seemed like they were getting yet another high profile win that would help then in the college football rankings. Well Sunday has arrived, and Alabama still finds themselves behind Texas in the week 11 Coaches Poll.

The first place votes in the week 11 Coaches Poll show that there isn’t a clear favorite at this point, but 48 voters did pick Florida to be the #1 team in the USA Today Coaches Poll for week 11. Voters also picked Alabama to be #1 on seven ballots and Texas to be #1 on four ballots. In the end though, Texas is the #2 overall team with 1,399 points, followed closely by Alabama with 1,389 points. Voters can’t make up their minds yet, but it seems clear that Texas has the favor of many voters despite not having that tough of a schedule so far in the Big-12 this season.

Following the big three is TCU at #4, Cincinnati at #5, and Boise State at #6. The three mid-level teams are all undefeated still at 9-0, but again Boise State sees a drop in their ranking, despite winning again. Cincinnati made the jump from #7 up to #5 after a nice win over the weekend, and the team now missing from the equation is Iowa, which fell all the way down to #13. That doesn’t seem like an accurate ranking for Iowa, as they still sit at 9-1 and are in the driver’s seat in the Big-10 Conference. They take on Ohio State next week to decide who will win the Big-10, so they still hold their own destiny.
