Coldplay Mylo Xyloto, It can be your best, boldest disc, yet, but Chris Martin of Coldplay knows what adjective would describe the band’s brand new Mylo Xyloto:

“It’s definitely an album of schizophrenia … keeps changing sounds,” he said. “That’s why we call such a strange thing, Mylo Xyloto. Because we feel like what many people have already made a decision about us, both good and bad, you can sort of starting from scratch and try to reflect all the music we listen to and love it. ”

That sentiment is evident throughout Xyloto, an album full of electronic beat, choirs and quiet and tender ballads rise. In many ways, plays much like the band’s personal iPod, packing anthems like the current single “Paradise” with instrumentals with minimal art and quiet acoustic numbers like “UFO” Even Rihanna appears, lending her voice to the song ” Princess of China. ” And shuffling schizophrenia is due both to the taste of the band, since it is the ethos of frequent collaborator Brian Eno, a man who practically lives to break down the borders.

“Working with Brian, he was very much of the opinion that only should be free to follow what you feel sounds better,” said Martin, “without having to worry about having to talk about it in interviews and everything and explain it.”

And considering all this, it’s logical that Xyloto Mylo actually started life as a very different animal: a quiet, acoustic-based album. But as her songs started to grow, Coldplay quickly realized that her self-imposed parameters could not contain her ambitions, so scrapped and started from scratch. And, as expected, the end result is a record that defies convention – and, of course, the definition also.

“From very early in the process of recording this album, we were playing a lot of acoustic instruments and we had in our minds so we can try to record a small sound, intimate and reflective album,” said drummer Will Champion. “And [a song like ‘Paradise’] came, and we realized we could not play in the acoustic style. So I thought, ‘OK, let’s finish this and then do another record,’ and the realization was very fast that it can concentrate on more than one thing at a time.

“So we decided to put everything in one basket, and some of the themes of the acoustic survived – the song ‘Charlie Brown’ was originally in that format and the” us against the world ‘”he continued.” And I think putting all our eggs in one basket has allowed us to release all the songs and let you decide where to go. “
