Chicago Bears FootballChicago Bears Football, How amazing was 24-14 to the Detroit Lions Monday Night Football victory over the Chicago Bears? It was so huge, that dominated Google Trends, with 10 of the top 20 search keywords related to that game to be ESPN Monday Night Football after he had finished, with 6 still in Google Trends as of this writing Tuesday morning: Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Calvin Johnson, Nick Fairley, Barry Sanders, and Ndamukong Suh.
For a game to take almost in Google Trends is a rare event, as even some Super Bowl contests can boast such clear dominance search.

While Google Trends does not show the intensity of regional search to the city (it used to, but Google has a habit of hiding the media-friendly data lately), it is difficult to determine much of the activity is being generated by the legions of long-suffering Lions fans, especially in Michigan.

With the win, the first 5 and 0 start since 1956 in Detroit, Lions, along with the long current Detroit Tigers MLB Playoffs, have electrified a city that needed an injection of civic good news.

Motor City was beaten by the very high unemployment rates: the result of the divestiture of businesses. In fact, a subsequent report that when part-time workers seeking full-time work are considered, the real unemployment rate in Detroit is 50 percent. That is in direct contrast with the unemployment rate for the metro Detroit area, which is just around the still high number of 10 percent.

But with all that, Detroit Lions fans still found ways to get tickets for the Chicago Bears – which attracted a record crowd of over 67,000.

Lions are you? Next week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers up this week will determine how far you have come the Lions.
