Charlie Daniels BandCharlie Daniels Band, The Charlie Daniels Band is mourning the loss of one of their own this morning. His long time keyboardist, Joel “Taz” DiGregorio, tragically died on Wednesday, October 12, after an injury he suffered in a car accident.

“I’m in shock now, Taz was one of my best friends,” says Charlie on his website. “The family CBD has lost a great friend and musician. We have traveled many miles together and shared many nights on the road. We miss you friend. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten. We send condolences to the family “.

The 67-year-old, who had been with the Charlie Daniels Band over 40 years, was on track to meet the bus in Cheatham County, Tennessee, when he was involved in a single car accident. The band, who were heading to a show at the Country Fair and Festival in Georgia Cumming, indicating canceled and their show scheduled for tomorrow night (October 15) in Waterbury, Connecticut

In addition to the band, DiGregorio was also a writer on several of the salient points of the band, including “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and “The Legend of Wooley Swamp.

Funeral services are pending.

The band is scheduled to perform at the Grand Ole Opry on Oct. 29 as part of a birthday celebration of the stars of Charlie, who turns 75 the day before. Clint Black, Lee Greenwood Grascals and are scheduled to appear.
