Click On Detroit, A tragic accident in Green Oak Township crossover resulted in five road accidents and left four others, including three children, with serious injury or potentially life-threatening. The two-vehicle accident occurred along U.S. 23 between Lee Road and Silver Lake Road, as reported by Click on Detroit.

Green Oak Township. Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Gentry said an unidentified motorist was driving his Toyota Prius along 23 when the vehicle veered over the centerline and into the oncoming traffic.

The Toyota struck a Chevy Blazer front, ejecting three people at impact. The six other victims have been extracted from the two wrecked vehicles.

Five people were killed in the violent collision. Although the identities of the victims were not released yet, the two pilots and three others, aged 18, 19 and 56, were killed.

Three children, ages 3, 5 and 10, and an 18-year-old, were hospitalized for their injuries. While the children were apparently in serious condition, the 18-year-old was treated for serious injuries.

Nearby resident Betty Max had heard the crash, saying: “I heard the screeching of breaks … then you just hear the bam “and see this car just rolling in the air … It was just terrible. ”

According to the Green Oak Township. Police Chief Robert Brookings, “We just have a big impact for both vehicles. It is too early to determine exactly what happened … At one point there was a fire, the vehicle was off site. ” A thorough investigation should be ongoing.
