Catholic Mass Media AwardsCatholic Mass Media Awards, The Manila Bulletin was awarded the “Best Ad of the Year” at the 33 th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA), 2011 held on Wednesday night in the city of Makati.

The print ad, “Faith” won the plum CMMA awards night during the meeting in San Carlos Seminary in Guadalupe, Makati City.

Jejomar Binay vice president C. graced the event to award prizes.

In his speech, Binay stressed the responsibility of the professionals of the media to ensure the accuracy of their work, taking into account the influence on the public.

“Their work and their decisions not only shape public opinion, but also the character of individuals. What the air or print often accepted as truth, no doubt, by their subscribers and viewers,” he said.

Apart from print advertising, Manila Bulletin also took home the “Best News Photograph of the Year” awarded by the CMMA.

Photographer Candice Reyes received the award for her photograph of a primary school student kiss goodbye before going to the parent class.

The CMMA gives recognition to media entities that promote positive social values.

During the night of the awards, and veteran broadcaster Korina Sanchez Binay cordial greeting to give each other.

Binay, who once accused Sanchez of deliberately omitting his name in her spiels on their news program, shook hands with the station as she accepted the trophy to show their show “Rated K”, who was elevated to the Hall Fame in the Best Magazine Program “on TV” category.

Sanchez, who is married to the Department of Transport and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Manuel Roxas II, who won the race Binay for vice president in 2010, accompanied on stage by Ted Failon, who received the award for “Patrol TV, “Hall of Fame also awarded the” Best News Program Radio and Television “categories.

“The vice president was there to publicize CMMA award. It was a very cordial meeting,” Binay said spokesman Joey Salgado when asked about Binay and compliance with Sanchez.

Earlier this year, the Office of the Vice President (OVP), once complained to the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Sanchez allegedly failed to mention Binay when presenting news in “TV Patrol.”

ABS-CBN management had denied the charge of the OVP.

Meanwhile, he urged Catholics to teach themselves Binay and young people to be more demanding of information received via the Internet and use the means of defending Christian values.

“To the media, for us in the government and citizens in all trades and professions, cyberspace is another area in which each of us can fulfill our Christian duty,” Binay said.
