Car Crashes Swimming PoolCar Crashes Swimming Pool, Residents inside a South Florida home escaped injury after a car accidentally crashed into the back of the house.

According to police, the vehicle plowed through a fence, propelled across a swimming pool and crashed into the back of a house along Northeast 12th Street and 55th Avenue, Saturday.

The Toyota Corolla ended up trunk first in the living room of the home, sending glass across the house. “And I just heard a big, ‘Boom!’ And then glass and I just looked out, and I didn’t see the car until I came in the living room, and then I saw the car, and I’m like, I don’t know. My question is how did he jump over the pool and crash into the house?” said homeowner Evelyn Collado.

The driver, Jonas Joseph, said he was trying to pull into his apartment complex across the street but the car accelerated in reverse. “The only explanation I can give is the gas petal got stuck and the car took off,” said Joseph, who remained on the scene of the accident.

Three children were home at the time of the crash. Apart from a minor scratch suffered by one of the children, no one was injured.

A group of people from the neighborhood are amazed that no one was hurt in the crash. “I think he was really blessed too because he could have went in the pool,” said a resident.

It remains unclear how the vehicle managed to avoid falling in the pool. “It’s a miracle, it’s a miracle,” said Joseph. “I cannot even explain that.”

A tow truck had to create a bridge over the swimming pool in order to remove the vehicle from the yard.

The fire department said the crash did not cause any structural damage to the house.
