Bubba Watson Family, Masters champion Bubba Watson revealed his next challenge will be changing the diaper of his newly-adopted son. Watson won his first major title by defeating South African Louis Oosthuizen on the second hole of a sudden death playoff on a dramatic final day at Augusta National.

The big-hitting American was reduced to tears after the victory, which came less than a month after adopting a baby boy named Caleb with wife Angie and 18 months after the passing of his father Gerry following a lengthy battle with throat cancer.

‘The thing is, golf is not my everything,’ Watson said.

‘But for me to come out here and win, it’s awesome for a week and then (to) get back to real life.’

‘I haven’t changed a diaper yet, so (I’m) probably going to have to change a diaper pretty soon.’

After missing a putt to potentially win the famous Masters green jacket on the first playoff hole, the left-handed 33-year-old produced a remarkable shot from the trees on the 10th that set him up for his most famous triumph.

‘The first time I ever worked with my caddie, Boston, six years ago, I told him, ‘if I have a swing, I’ve got a shot’,’ Watson said.

‘So I’m used to the woods. I’m used to the rough. We were walking down and I said, ‘we were here already. We hit it close here already today’, because I was in those trees.’

‘I got there. I saw it was a perfect draw, a perfect hook.’

Watson, who established himself as an Augusta National crowd favourite, had to calm himself down rather than feeding off the fans’ energy as one of the most memorable Masters finishes in recent history reached its climax.

‘As an athlete, as a golfer, this is the Mecca,’ Watson said.

‘This is what we strive for, to put on the green jacket, to win golf tournaments.’
