Bonjour CookwareBonjour Cookware, Is the cost of your cookware leaves no funds to buy food? Celebrity chefs like Mario Batali, and Marcus Samuelsson backing of their own lines of cookware expensive, but it is not necessary to spend hundreds of dollars in equipment to create a delicious meal.

We asked the experts to justify a waste items, and that they are too expensive.  Fork over the money for a few nice knives

The most important thing to spend on a good set of knives. But it is not necessary big box set, says Aaron Baer-Harsha, line cook in Ouest in New York. “The average home cook only needs two knives, a kitchen knife in the range of six to 10 inches, and a kitchen knife.

Baer, ??brand recommended Harsha Wüsthof knives. You can find a kitchen knife six inches of 75 and Amazon.com, and a knife to cut 3.5-inch and 35 at Macy’s (M).

If you are investing in good knives, it is also important to take care of them. You need two things: a grinder and a cutting board well.

Baer, ??Harsha recommends purchasing the grinder – also called polished steel – in a reputable store like Williams Sonoma (WSM), where staff can teach you how to use it properly. The diamond sharpening steel can cost 100, but it’s okay to buy the cheapest, sharp metal steel. You will still have a useful tool to keep your knives sharp.

Apart from sharpening their knives, you should also buy a good cutting board to protect your tools. “Bad cut boards do much damage to the knives,” says Baer, ??Harsha. “So if you’re buying nice knives could also buy a good cutting board too.” We recommend wood, not glass or plastic.

When it comes to pots and pans, experts say that a large expenditure is unnecessary. Paul Vandewoude, head chef at Miette Culinary studio in New York, says it’s important to have a heavy-bottomed pan, but also one that is light enough to hold comfortably.

Vandewoude warns against using non-stick pans, potentially toxic gases are emitted when heated to high temperatures. It also recommends no plastic pans with handles. “It must be able to go in the oven,” says Vandewoude. “So if you are cooking a great meal that you can use the entire surface of the stove and oven.”

Baer, ??Harsha also recommended to go for cheaper pots and pans. It identifies all dressed as a strong brand for home cooks, but at about 90 and a 10-inch frying pan stainless steel Macy, the prices of this line are at the upper limit of what is worth spending on them. Alternatively, Consumer Reports found that Bonjour is a premium brand – and is cheaper. For an eight-inch skillet, you’ll pay around 40 and Macy.

At day’s end, you have to prioritize their purchases of kitchen. Spend your extra money on knives, and go with a cheaper set of pots and pans. You will have the tools for a successful meal without paying professional prices.
