Black Pearl Restaurant New YorkBlack Pearl Restaurant New York | USsPost.com:I’m starting to check out what Seattle really has to offer.  When I lived in Federal Way it would have taken me 45 minutes to an hour to drive to this place so when we moved last week this was one of my first stops.  Why you ask? Well, there’s this thing called Twitter.  You’ve probably heard about it/used it/just don’t get the point.   I get it, it’s the easiest way for busy people to communicate without having to get into too much detail.  It’s a great tool for restaurants because they can really stay in contact with their customers…..”we have a new item on our menu” then people who like it retweet that tweet and all the little twitters will tweet with excitement! What?

More and more restaurants in the Seattle area are getting on Twitter and even the most well known restaurants have established a place for themselves on the Twittersphere.  The Herbfarm, Tom Douglas’ restaurants, Rover’s (Chef in the Hat!), Black Pearl, El Gaucho, Waterfront Grill, Canlis, and the list goes on.

I have this little blog here so when one of those restaurants just says, “hey, your food looks great” then I tend to to pay attention to what they’re doing a little more. There is a trend on this site for restaurants or places that I visit directly coming from comments or people mentioning my site.  You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.  No money exchanging hands but maybe a little publicity if you will.  It’s almost like old school business but with new crazy technology brought to you by the intertubes/interwebs/whatever you want to call it.

Black Pearl is one of those restaurants to just get out there and say hey. That’s all it takes for me. Mindy and I made our way over to the Black Pearl and had a seat and ordered some food.  The hot pot pictured above was great. The sauce was killer and I’m a huge fan of sauces. When I go to a restaurant for the first time I always ask the waiter what they usually eat then go from there.  He suggested the sauce so I went for it.

Mindy and I shared a BBQ Pork Loin appetizer with a spicy mustard sauce that will wake up the nostrils with a touch of horseradish. Good times.

Mindy ordered the Mu shu (is that one word or two? I don’t know) Pork and it was pretty awesome. The hoisin sauce was phenomenal (I love sauces).

I will be coming back even though it is around 20 minutes from the house…..it’s less than 45-60 minutes so I can’t complain and those sauces are totally worth the price of admission/drive time.  I know, there are a billion Chinese restaurants in Seattle but I think this one is great and you get to see the cooks do their magic since the kitchen is open…my favorite part.

Check out Black Pearl Restaurant…..they deliver too!
