NJ Beating DeathKhayri Williams Clark, (Associated Press:) — Dusk fell around Mazaniego Abelino Salvadoran immigrants while sitting on a bench on a promenade in a high-class suburb of New York after finishing his shift restaurant. When the night invades, so did a group of teenagers, including one with a video camera cell phone in hand.

Then, authorities say, they beat him unconscious, with the camera rolling.

Days later, the father of 47-year-old was four dead – but not before the video had been distributed among teens in Summit, New Jersey, authorities said. And not before a nurse in the emergency room where it was taken the night of July 17 was charged with theft of several hundred dollars from his wallet.

The attacks on the body and the dignity of Mazaniego days led to the escalation of the legal actions that culminated on Tuesday in murder charges against three young men, ages 17, 18 and 19. A fourth teenager believed to have videotaped the attack has not been charged, but authorities did not disclose details about the involvement of youth or the potential guilt.

Khayri Williams-Clark, 18, and an unidentified 17-year-old, both the Summit, were arrested Wednesday on charges of manslaughter. Williams-Clark pleaded guilty to the charges on Friday.

Advertise now are charged with murder, along with Nigel Dumas, 19, of Morristown. A spokesman for the public defender’s office, representing the Williams-Clark and 17 years old, declined to comment Tuesday, saying the office had not received a request to represent Dumas.

The 17-year-old is being held at the juvenile detention center in Union County, while Williams-Clark is being held at the Union County Jail and the 100,000 bond, prosecutors said. Bail for Dumas, in the same jail, has been set at 250,000 y. Authorities would not say how many teens were in the group or whether there will be more charges. Nor were discussing theories about the cause for a beating – if Mazaniego background is a thrill or kill some other reason.

But apparently it was an attempt to get the 640 and Mazaniego carrying cash.

Police found the victim after the beating and was taken to hospital, where, according to authorities, nurse Stephan Randolph, 39, of Flemington, took money from the wallet of the victim unconscious.

Family members noticed the lack of cash and told authorities, who accused Randolph of third-degree theft Monday after Mazaniego died six days.
