Big 12 Standings, Week 12 of the college football was very interesting for all the BCS fanatics. The games’ results of the BCS national championship contenders absolutely change the railroad of the BCS Rankings.

It all started last Friday when No 2 Oklahoma State Cowboys failed to deliver in double overtime against the Iowa State in a 37-31 defeat. Of course the loss created the opportunity for Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, Clemson Tigers, and Alabama Crimson Tide to have a bigger opportunity to be in the second place of the BCS standings.

Before Saturday, the projection for the BCS Standings assuming that these contenders win will be the Oregon Ducks or Oklahoma Sooners will land for second place. Also for the Clemson Tigers to have still an outside shot at the BCS Rankings.

Unexpected things happened when No 4 Oregon was eliminated by the USC Trojans in a 38-35 squeaker. Ducks were defeated at home and they fell to convert pull that comeback. Oregon’s dream to have another shot at the National title game was completely washed away. Dreams were shattered and hope was completely gone.

Another big game was the No 5 Sooners outsmarted by Baylor in 45-38 defeat. Sooners showdown with the Cowboys will not be as big as expected in the final week. Sooners were stunned by another tight match in which they have the chance to force the game into overtime but the coaching staff made a terrible call for a timeout.

No 7 Clemson was also one of the victims in a Saturday that shocked the college football world. What will be the picture of the BCS Standings that will come out?

Here is our BCS Standing Projection:

No 1 LSU Tigers – Two games left for the Tigers and they are in for the most coveted game in college football, the national game on January 9, 2012. However, the pressure keeps mounting especially the game against Arkansas Razorbacks.

No 2 Alabama Crimson Tide – All the Crimson Tide do is to wait what will happen surrounding them. The biggest threat at No 2 position will be the game between LSU and Arkansas. Assuming that Arkansas will win that game? This will absolutely create controversies. Will Alabama go into No 1 or will they fall outside the top 2?

No 3 Arkansas Razorbacks – Arkansas only chance of getting into the conversation is to beat No 1 LSU. This will be the game of the week and the defense of LSU will be tested.

No 4 Stanford Cardinal – Last week, everything is gone but it seems that the Cardinal still have an outside shot as a team with one loss. It is still possible for the Cardinal to be in the national title but it will be a long shot.

No 5 Oklahoma State – A win against the Sooners will still have them a shot at the national title. As a Big 12 champion assuming they will win, then the Cowboys will still be a team with one loss.

We don’t know that will be the BCS picture next week as the system will bring controversies again. Too bad for the Broncos to lose last week against TCU. They could have been in the No 2 spot this week.

The biggest question this wee will be: What if LSU will suffer a defeat? What will happen to the BCS Standings 2011?
