Big 10 Football Scores

Big 10 Football Scores, The best moment of the season for LSU. The worst moment for the rest of college football. No.1 LSU’s grueling 9-6 overtime victory over No.2 Alabama moved the Tigers to the lead position in the race for the BCS National Championship Game. More disturbing for everyone else chasing: it more than likely kept Alabama close enough to see the finish line, too.

That’s the way it works in the beauty pageant that is the BCS race. And after the way this game played out, a rematch in the national championship game isn’t out of the question.

After a 6-6 tie following four quarters of hard-as-nails defense, the grude match spilled into overtime, with Alabama getting first dibs.

Cade Foster’s 52-yard goal was well off the mark, his third miss of the night. The Tide stubbornly gave way to LSU. The Tigers’ Michael Ford took a pitch left and sprinted toward the end zone before stepping out of bounds at the 7-yard line.

The Tigers couldn’t make any progress from there. Kicker Drew Alleman, who made kicks of 19 and 30 yards, trotted onto the field. Alabama called a timeout to freeze Alleman—it didn’t work. Alleman’s 25-yard field goal sailed true through the uprights to keep the Tigers’ season perfect—and their eyes squarely focused on a spot in the national championship game.

Afterward, Miles said: “I’d be honored to play that team again.” Somehow, that doesn’t seem so far-fetched.
