Bcs Poll

October 18, 2010 by · Comments Off on Bcs Poll

Bcs Poll, Most people who scam the public have the good sense to keep quiet about it. No kids that the final Bowl Championship Series. Emboldened by their partner’s most recent television and running water carrier – let’s call BCSPN – who have made the con game in a weekly series.

Not as bad as grindingly “The Decision”, but at least it was an isolated incident. This is called “BCS Countdown” and the first words from the mouth of host Rece Davis when he made his debut on Sunday night could become prophetic.

“Love it or hate,” he said during the opening phase, “can not ignore.”

No, but just give us some time.

The vast majority of college football fans already hate the BCS. A year ago, conference commissioners and university presidents who run the cartel had a bad public relations advice and tried to charm his critics, creating a Twitter account and Facebook. Not surprisingly, both were bombed immediately.

“You are like a black boil, ichorous in the world of sport that must be lanced with rusty nails,” sent a message a disgruntled fan.

“I hate you,” wrote another. “Signed, everyone.”

Surveys show that nine out of 10 fans favor a playoff. The response of BCS in the years since the kidnapping of the game postseason a dozen years ago has been to change the rules, trying to bribe the smaller conferences that was exclusive, Congress rejected that complained, and moved by polls.

That last move was triggered when The Associated Press told the BCS to stop using its poll of media in late 2004 as one of the three components of equal weight – along with the poll of coaches and teams – in determining the classification.

The AP was replaced by the Harris Interactive poll, a decision that proved embarrassing when it was revealed that Larry Rash, one of the voters of Harris, was on board, simply because his father-in-law was Troy University coach Larry Blakeney.

“And if I was living in a perfect world,” Rash said, a masonry contractor supply, leaving the poll board, “I would like to see a playoff.”

Now, as some of us have long suspected, is that the books are cooked, too.

In 2004, Bradley Carlin, professor of biostatistics and professor of public health in May at the University of Minnesota, wrote an opinion piece for the Sunday New York Times and concluded: “No matter how you arrange the formula, the BCS is still nothing more than a seeding system for the development of a two-team tournament.

“The only benefit is to create a game that precludes all but two powerful contenders from a legitimate title shot. More to the point, they run a high risk of crowning the champion of evil.”

This view has gained momentum in subsequent years. In 2009, respected analyst Bill James called his colleagues to “have the dignity, self respect and common sense” to boycott the farce BCS championship.

Building on work done by Dr. Hal S. Stern, head of the Department of Statistics, University of California-Irvine, James Stern supported the conclusion that the purpose of the use of computer rankings in the BCS formula was “to create a bit of mathematical gobbledygook support” what voters in the survey came up.

“There is no point in our participation in the process if we are going to say how to do the analysis based on ignorance, prejudice to the past,” wrote James, repeating his call to boycott the BCS. “Run your own computer damned.”

Increasingly, they have.

In another opinion piece Sunday in the New York Times, Yahoo Sports columnist Dan Wetzel and Jeff Passan, took note of all changes BCS rankings, the mandate of its equipment have calmed criticisms about his credibility. Two of the six BCS team left analysts acknowledged that it could produce a better rating without any interference.

You know nothing of this, of course, see “Countdown BCS, or visit the official website.

“The BCS is one of the most successful events in the history of college football, however, is often misunderstood,” a statement on the site, he said.

“Thanks to the BCS,” he added, “the best two teams have met 12 times in 12 years BCS measures and 9 times in the last 12 years according to the AP poll – including the last six years in a row.”

Some accomplishments. The BCS has been manipulating the computer formulas to justify their classification and nine of the 12 hours, humans reached the same conclusions without using computer formulas at all.

Not exactly the kind of thing you want to be broadcasting from the rooftops.

Bcs Standings

October 18, 2010 by · Comments Off on Bcs Standings

Bcs Standings, Oklahoma was a number one surprise to most, except the BCS guru who called yesterday. The Sooners are number one because of its strength of schedule. There are plenty of football to be played, but it could be a scenario similar to USC was number one in both polls in 2003, but was third in the standings. Boise is in point three in the BCS rankings, but the second in the human polls. There are a ton of football left, so things change.

Alabama team rankings are all over the place. One thing that I would, but most of them you may have is that the Mountain West is tied with the Big 10 to have two teams of 10, and only the SEC – to three – with more teams.

Star split

ESPN’s BCS was quite entertaining and Kirk Herbstreit was obviously impressive to make sense to say that just seeing one can say how good TCU, Boise, and Utah. “Statement” said Craig James, who hit you and you played “saying just get rid of non-BCS teams because they do not play the type of schedule than most BCS league game.

The team can not make more noise in the top 12 is Iowa plays Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio State all at home. A 1.11 Iowa could make a case for the title game if they want to win.

A big game this week to help out all non-BCS teams is LSU vs Auburn fight and that will help and it hurt. The losing team stays behind TCU and Boise, and not the capture, which, however, the team wins, probably will move ahead of Boise and TCU.

A ton of football to play, and here are the rankings below.

Bcs Standings

October 17, 2010 by · Comments Off on Bcs Standings

Bcs Standings, Voters in the coach’s poll and Harris probably had a good shock last week when they discovered that if there had BCS rankings last week, Boise State was ranked No. 1. Some of them would probably have been OK with that, but many of them would not.

Well, circumstances have allowed them to “correct” things this week. With polling surprises No. 1 Ohio State and the top 5 Nebraska, Oregon is expected to climb to No. 1 in both polls this week BCS. But the Ducks of inactivity will not ranked in the BCS ranking first official … and neither will Boise State, who should check in at No. 2 after beating San Jose State.

Oklahoma, coming off a 52-0 pasting of Iowa State, is scheduled to open 2010 BCS rankings at No. 1. The Sooners will be behind Boise State in the polls, but the deficits thin it will not compensate lead OU in the computer ratings. The Broncos will still have a score of powerful computers, while San Jose State is now 1-6 – because the Spartans have played a top 5-ranked schedule so far. Advantage of computer Boise he remain at the forefront of Oregon.

So what does this mean for the future? Expect many changes in the BCS rankings in the coming weeks because the two polls and computer scores will remain volatile for some time. With losses by Ohio State, Nebraska and Nevada, the ranks are now reduced to only unbeaten 10. Four of them are guaranteed to lose two next weeks, as will a pair of twin Unbeaten (Oklahoma, Missouri, LSU at Auburn).

Bcs Standings 2010

October 11, 2010 by · Comments Off on Bcs Standings 2010

Bcs Standings 2010, 2010 BCS ranking orders have been some really strong and the current classifications are quite different from those after a couple of weeks earlier. Alabama has brought loss to eighth place and the state of Ohio has risen to first place. Oregon is currently present in second place after a string of victories to his credit and Boise State is the lucky team that is already present in the second act. Is actually going to be very interesting to see things the way next time as the year has been pretty amazing. The official ranking of BCS 2010 has not been announced so far and information is mainly collected in six different surveys to calculate the final rankings for the BCS 2010.

The teams like TCU and Nebraska have been the change in the fourth and fifth point on several occasions and it would be interesting to see that these two teams finish at the end. What changed everything

situation is strange Alabama loss that was not being expected by anyone. It was expected that they would be winning the national championship, but now his position has largely fallen to eighth place. Nothing different is expected in the coming time when things have changed in the past and some sharp turns are expected in the coming time as well.
