Baseball Wives TV Show

Baseball Wives TV Show, Remember Anna Benson? She’s the MLB wife whose non-stop jabbering and jabs at Mets management overshadowed the so-so pitching career of her husband Kris. And now she’s headed back into our universe — via reality TV, naturally — on the upcoming VH1 series Baseball Wives.

“We are not like the Basketball Wives,” Benson promises the New York Post. “We are classy.”

And who are we to dispute that, even if Anna did meet Kris while working as a stripper at the Mardi Gras club in Atlanta?

When the Mets traded Benson to Baltimore in 2006 it was widely suggested that his wife’s penchant for making outrageous comments on Howard Stern’s radio show played a role, although the team denied it.

“I don’t know why you would trade a stud pitcher,” Anna told the Post. “I don’t know why it became about me. But it kind of makes me feel good that they were intimidated by me.”

Her “stud pitcher” husband has a lifetime record of 70-75 and didn’t play in the majors in 2011. His last two seasons he went 1-1, for Texas in 2009, and again for Arizona in 2010.

The show will follow the predictable path of gathering past and current wives and girlfriends of past and current players, and seeing who gets snarky with whom. Benson’s castmates will include Erika Monroe Williams (wife of Matt Williams), Chantel Kendall (ex-wife of Jason Kendall), Tanya Grace (ex-wife of Mark Grace) and Brooke Villone (wife of Ron Villone).
