Australian FootballAustralian Football, Geelong Collingwood won by 38 points in the Australian Football League grand final to win its third president in five years.

The Cats won 18.11 (119) to 12.9 (81) before a crowd of 99,537 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Steve Johnson kicked four goals to lead with Jimmy Bartel Geelong, Tom and Travis Varcoe Hawkins adding three each. Bartel won the Norm Smith Medal as most valuable player of the game.

The victory gave Geelong, which also won the title in 2007 and 2009, its ninth VFL / AFL Premiership a year after Gary Ablett the star midfielder and coach Mark Thompson left the club.

Collingwood, who led the ranking of the regular season after losing just two of their 22 games, had been seeking a return to two titles after beating St. Kilda last year to win his first minister for the first time in 20 years.
