Christina Jones said Giordano, who is being held in jail in Aruba in connection with the disappearance of Gardner, Gardner was asked to go on a cruise with him. When Gardner was with Jones New York, however, overturned, Jones told ABC News.

“He was her text message while we were at breakfast, very angry with her because she decided she would not go on the cruise,” said Jones. “And their responses to the text, I do not feel comfortable repeating, were aggressive, harmful, something that does not sit right inside me.”

Gardner, 35, disappeared last week while on vacation Giordano, whom he met in an online dating site for over a year, according to Jones. Giordano told police the two were together snorkeling, but Gardner never returned to the coast. He was arrested when the police decided that her story does not add up, according to authorities in Aruba.

Jones said her friend knew that Giordano, 50, had a history of alleged domestic abuse, and they had a “rollercoaster of friendship.”

When Gardner told Jones that went to Aruba with the volatility of Giordano, Jones asked her friend.

“When she came to me and said, ‘Hey, I’m going to Aruba,’ I said, ‘Cool, I’m so happy to leave the city, why not?” Said Jones. “And then she told me she was going to Gary, who became a ‘why, why? Are you sure?” ”

Gardner, Jones describes as sweet confidence, assured her friend that the trip would be fine. Gardner had recently lost her job as a dental assistant, and was having problems with her boyfriend of two years and a half years, Richard Forester, Jones said.

“She made me feel better, that would be fine and she was about to clear her head,” said Jones. “She was so happy about it and kind of to escape.”

Gardner and Jones said Giordano had a relationship on-again, off-again for over a year in which they went for a drink and be nice for awhile, and then not talk for a few months.

“Some months or even saw it and then other months he weasels her way back there, and you know, she’s going for a drink,” said Jones. “Sometimes, Robyn was very focused on having a strong relationship with Richard when things were fine, and then not hear about Gary.”

Gardner, who has a tattoo on her shoulder, and Jones bonded, and removed in her small town, because they both have tattoos, Jones said. However, Gardner was the guy who was waiting for a knight in shining armor, Jones said.

“You know, my essence, it was always something great will come along with the white picket fence and all, but never arrived,” said Jones.

Aruba is asking the FBI to obtain phone records and other documents from third parties in connection with the case of Gardner, the Aruba prosecutor’s office confirmed.
The country has prepared a petition asking the FBI to help investigate the case in the U.S., according to Taco Stein, spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office. Stein said they are seeking help to obtain information from third parties, including cell phone companies.

“All you have to ask a third should be cited,” said Stein. “So we had to ask the FBI, and that can only be mentioned in the U.S.”

Aruba is seeking researchers to determine the couple’s whereabouts and activities in the days and hours leading to the disappearance of Gardner to be brought before a judge Monday to keep Giordano in the country longer, Stein said. Giordano has not been charged with a crime, but a judge may order him held for eight days under suspicion, said Stein. The court appearance will be closed to the public.

Aruba police had been in contact with the FBI and the U.S. authorities since the beginning of the investigation, said Stein, but had not formally requested help so far.

“We had two people who came to America for a holiday, so I only know what is in their passports,” said Stein. “If you need information about directions or anything, it is necessary that the U.S. authorities. Therefore, in contact with them since the beginning.”

Aruba drafted a formal request for mutual assistance treaties in criminal matters and legal to be presented to the FBI, said Stein. He noted that it is a normal course of action when a country is investigating the crimes of foreigners.

Giordano lawyer says there is no evidence of murder

Aruba Attorney Giordano, Michael Lopez, said there was no evidence to support the charge of murdering his client.

“It is suspected that the murder, but there is no proof that I know,” said Michael Lopez, Giordano’s lawyer in Aruba. “I see no proof. There is no evidence or reason.”

Giordano was initially treated as a witness to a drowning and told police he was allowed to leave the island, according to Stein. However, when parts of the story of Giordano did not make sense, they decided to arrest him, said Stein. He was arrested Friday while trying to board a flight to the U.S., according to police.

“It was first questioned as a witness in that position, he was told he was free to leave,” said Stein.

“In evaluating his statements later decided that there were some things that were not correct and has changed our position on it to view as suspicious. At that point we decide we do not want to leave the island,” said Stein.

He said police are reviewing security tapes from Giordano and Gardner, the island for investigation., And that Giordano has stopped cooperating with police.

Gardner’s boyfriend says he does not “believe for a second,” his girlfriend disappeared while diving, and raised new allegations against the man arrested as suspect in her disappearance.

“I’m terrified,” Forester said “Good Morning America.” “I’ve heard stories about Gary Giordano, who is very knowledgeable about technology and is able to manipulate people’s computers and track and follow them.”

Giordano, Gardner traveled together to Aruba July 31, according to police in Aruba.

Giordano said that he and Gardner went snorkeling around 6 pm on August 2, but Giordano returned to the coast amid the rough currents and Gardner realized he had not returned to shore with him. He alerted the police in Aruba who have sought area with ships, helicopters and divers, but found no sign of Gardner.

“I do not think she was snorkeling,” Forester said today “GMA.” “I do not think for a second. She would be too worried about getting your hair messed up, getting her makeup messed up. She is a kind of daisy girl sitting by the pool or beach and relax. I do not t buy it. ”
