Brazil NetherlandsBrazil Netherlands:Sixteen years ago in Dallas, Texas, we had a quarter-final time. A quarter-final which is, in my opinion the two best teams in the 1994 World Cup. It would be a party that, whatever the outcome, many thought that eventually produce the world champion.

It did.

Now, sixteen years later, history may repeat itself as the Netherlands and Brazil renew their rivalry in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

You can not say too many mean things about the Dutch. Beautiful country. Friendly people. exceptional beer. Solid football. They provide the world with one of the great eras, innovative game: Total Football.

This will not be an easy match for either side. It will be physical. It will be a chess game sometimes. However, it will be a party that ultimately prevails Seleção in.

The Dutch enter this game as a bit of a wild card in this World Cup. It is difficult to do with them sometimes. They have not looked convincing in South Africa, and I think that most Dutch fans would agree. They had probably one of the draws of the tournament easier. They had a very, very easy to qualify for the World Cup gave Norway, Scotland, Macedonia and Iceland. But getting the results that were expected to go into those games.

They are led by pragmatic Bert van Marwijk, who only lost one game as national coach in September 2008 against Australia. However, under his reign, played previous winners of the World Cup twice, both times drawing.

This game against Brazil is by far the most difficult challenge that Holland has faced over the past two years.

Brazil needs to approach this match with great caution and awareness of what the Netherlands offer in attack. Rafael van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder, Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben are world class, technically gifted players. Sneijder has a great precision in their long balls. Gregory van der Wiel is a young and eating right back Michel Bastos going to have to be vigilant.

Do you see this sign, and you think “you should always light the match report.” Not exactly.

This Dutch team is not your father’s Dutch team in recent years in terms of tactics. I think van Marwijk has adopted a very cautious approach to offset concerns in his defense. You will see that the average position of their midfielders, holding, Mark van Bommel and Nigel de Jong, is quite far back, and really stay so far back.

You look at some of their back four, and you begin to see why that makes sense. They were shaky in the back against Slovakia. If you give Brazil the same amount of scoring opportunities that gave Slovakia will lose this game, plain and simple.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst at left has to worry the Dutch fans against a full dose of Dani Alves and Maicon assault on that side of the court. Simply I can not imagine a scenario in which Brazil remains off the scoresheet in a game like this against this defense.

The real question becomes Holland can score two goals or push the sanctions? They are capable of it, of course. You look at our line of four, knowing that Dani Alves, Gilberto Silva, Felipe Melo and are supporting them with Julio Cesar in goal, and it becomes safe to say that putting two in this group is probably not going to happen.

Holland will need to Van Bommel and de Jong will present to record the number of goals that I believe will be needed to score to win this match in regular time or overtime. It’s a dilemma to choose your poison, because if they do, give the Brazilian space on the counter, and usually does not end well for our opponents.

Gilberto Silva Felipe Melo and actions, of course, play an important role in controlling the play the Dutch midfield and attack. If both continue their solid form at this World Cup Netherlands will work much harder.

In addition, everyone must be aware of the position of Robben in the field. You can not let him go left with the ball to drop a shot. Slovakia Ask what happens when you do that.

Finally, Brazil will have to reduce the faults that occur within 30 meters of the box because he is a master Wesley Sneijder free kick.

In short, with absolute respect for the Dutch fans out there, only Brazil has too much quality on both ends of the pitch to lose this game.
