Anna Ryder Richardson, TV presenter Anna Ryder Richardson is to be prosecuted on health and safety charges after a toddler and his mum were crushed by a tree at her zoo.

Emma Davies-Hughes, 28, and her three-year-old son Gruff were visiting the wallaby enclosure at the star’s wildlife park in Wales when a branch fell in strong winds.

The little boy was left fighting for his life and spent three days in intensive care after suffering serious head injuries.

He is still receiving treatment following the incident, which happened at the enclosure at the 52-acre Manor House animal park in Tenby, West Wales, in August 2010.

Teacher Emma was also badly hurt, suffering a head injury and fractures to her leg, pelvis and arm.

Emergency services reportedly struggled for two hours to free the pair before they were airlifted to Morriston Hospital in Swansea.

The former Changing Rooms star, who was at the park at the time, was said to be “devastated” by the accident.

Pembrokeshire County Council confirmed that Anna and her husband Colin MacDougall will face two charges of breaching the Health and Safety Act.
