American Academy Of Cosmetic Surgery, At the recently held Dallas Rhinoplasty Symposium, Dr. Jack Gunter and Dr. Spencer Cochran delivered several lectures and participated in the presentation of an anatomical cadaver lab. Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. Gunter says their contributions to the conference offered a unique opportunity to promote the advancement and progression of rhinoplasty techniques and to keep up-to-date with the latest cosmetic enhancement development.

Drs. Gunter and Cochran of the Dallas plastic surgery practice the Gunter Center for Aesthetics & Cosmetic Surgery recently attended the 29th installment of the conference to deliver lectures and anatomy lab presentations on the latest advancements in rhinoplasty techniques. The conference, held at the UT Southwestern campus and the Westin Galleria in Dallas, TX, took place March 9-11 and was sponsored by the UT Southwestern Department of Plastic Surgery and the Office of Continuing Medical Education.

Dr. Gunter, the Symposium Co-Chairman and Clinical Professor of the Department of Plastic Surgery and the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, says he was pleased with the participation and hopes all attendees took away a greater motivation to continue their pursuit of the safest, most effective techniques in rhinoplasty procedures. As lecturer and moderator of many discussions at the conference including clinical analysis, facial balance, revision rhinoplasty, and how to avoid complications during a procedure, Dr. Gunter says each presentation discussed a unique, important aspect of rhinoplasty that can hopefully enhance future performance and results of the intricate treatment.

Dr. Cochran, a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the UT Southwestern Faculty, introduced several presentations throughout the conference on topics such as nasal tip alignment and how to decrease projection of the nose. He says he is grateful for the chance to share his experience with his colleagues and hopes the symposium provided a thorough educational approach to deconstructing rhinoplasty.

Following the conference, Drs. Gunter and Cochran say they have both returned to their practice equipped and driven to continue providing the highest quality care and satisfactory results to their patients. Dr. Gunter adds that he is excited for the future of rhinoplasty and the chance to continuously perfect its ability to provide balance, harmony, and confidence to his patients’ faces.

About Jack P. Gunter, MD

Dr. Jack Gunter received his undergraduate degree from Westminster College and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. He has completed surgical residencies in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Otolaryngology, in addition to a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh and an Internship at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. Dr. Gunter serves as the Clinical Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery and the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck. With over 35 years of experience in rhinoplasty, he is board-certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology, as well as a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the Rhinoplasty Society, Inc. (founding member), and several other professional organizations. Dr. Gunter has also been named one of the Best Doctors in America, and awarded the Simon Fredricks Award, the ASPS Presidents Award, and the Tiffany Award for best paper on his discussion of rhinoplasty maneuvers.

About C. Spencer Cochran, MD

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Spencer Cochran earned his medical degree from the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed both an Internship in General Surgery and his residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck surgery at the UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Cochran is the Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the UT Southwestern Medical Center and a Clinical Faculty member in the Division of Otolaryngology at Dallas Veterans Administration Medical Center. He is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the Rhinoplasty Society, the American Medical Association, and several other professional organizations. Dr. Cochran has been selected by D Magazine as one of the “Best Doctors in Dallas.”
