April 3, 2013 by · Comments Off on Amber Alert

Amber Alert, A national Amber Alert was issued Wednesday for two Tampa-area boys — Cole and Chase Hakken — after they were abducted by their “anti-government” parents, deputies say. Joshua Hakken, 35, entered a home in the 14000 block of Shady Shores Drive owned by Patricia Hauser, maternal grandmother of the boys, at about 6:30 a.m. today, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Hakken tied up Hauser, took the boys — Cole, 4, and Chase, 2 — and fled in Hauser’s 2009 Silver Toyota Camry.

But authorities said Hakken, wife Sharyn Hakken, 34, and the boys may be traveling in a 2006, black GMC Sierra with Florida tag number U95KT.

The vehicle may be pulling a 2012 Forrest River pop camper, Florida Tag: BHNV-86.

“Both suspects are anti-government and have attempted a previous abduction at gunpoint in Louisiana,” the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The statement didn’t provide any details about who has legal custody of the children.

Anyone with any information is urged to call 911 or call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200.

“Both subjects are considered armed and dangerous,” the statement said.

Under an Amber Alert, information about the abducted children, their parents and their vehicle is being broadcast on radio, television, lottery machines, electronic road signs and digital billboards.
