All Souls' Day HolidayAll Souls’ Day Holiday, The celebration of All Saints and All Souls in the city of Bacolod was generally peaceful, said the Bacolod City Police Office (OCAB) and the Police of the Province of Negros Occidental Office (NOPP).

“OCAB achieve zero accidents,” said Director Ricardo De la Paz OCAB Wednesday.

He said there were no adverse events reported in different public and private cemeteries in the city during the two days.

De la Paz attributed to the peaceful observance of preventive measures in different areas of Bacolod.

The police chief warned before the public against carrying weapons or alcohol and participating in illegal gambling within the cemeteries.

As people are expected to flock to the cemetery, hundreds of police, barangay tanods (village guards) and volunteers were deployed in different public and private cemeteries, seaports and bus terminals in the city.

“We have maximized the deployment of PNP (Philippine National Police) personnel to ensure public safety,” said De la Paz.

Police patrols carried out not only in cemeteries, but also in different branches to control the possible attack of burglars and thieves who could benefit from the activity of two days.

These days, De la Paz said that although no “akyat-bahay”, pickpocket, snatching and carnapping incidents were reported.

He also referred to the traffic situation improves in the city, especially in the Bacolod Public Cemetery.

Meanwhile, Noppa said that except for some minor and isolated cases, the observance of “All Saints Day and All Saints in other areas of Negros Occidental was relatively peaceful.

Noppa spokesman Chief Inspector Rico Santotome Jr., said nine people were injured in an accident involving three vehicles and tricycles Isuzu truck last two Tuesday afternoon in Barangay Magallon Cadre in Moises Padilla town.

Moises Padilla police chief Robert Mansueto said the victims, which included five children, were taken to the Municipal Health Hospital in the city for treatment of minor injuries.

In the city of Toboso, two suspects were arrested by personnel of the Philippine Army’s response and barangay officials of Barangay Bug-ang on Tuesday night after they robbed at gunpoint by two teenagers on their cell phones.

One victim was identified as John Mark Balaod, 18, resident, said.

Santotome said one victim, a 17-year-old was allegedly raped in a field of sugar cane by the suspects identified as Tata Cris De Juan, 25, of Barangay Dian-ay on the outskirts of the city Escalante and his colleague Kenneth Cuevas, 18, of Barangay Bug-ang.

Recovered from the suspects were arrested on Samsung victims, the red Honda motorcycle owned by De Juan Cuevas and a 45 caliber pistol used in the robbery.

In addition, four sticks of dried marijuana cigarette were recovered from the possession of caves during the arrest, said Santotome.

A series of charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 8353 (rape) in relation to the Republic 7610 (Child Abuse Act), RA 8294 (amended the Firearms Act), RA 9165 (Comprehensive Law Dangerous Drugs 23 002) and theft are being prepared against the duo.
