Alistair OvereemAlistair Overeem, It could have been one of the ads the biggest fight in UFC history when the news broke that former heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem Strikeforce face former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar UFC 30, December at the UFC 141.

Arrival Overeem in the UFC is not unexpected, but still a large firm like K-1 Grand Prix champion finally makes his debut in the Octagon.

Originally Strikeforce Overeem was reduced due to contractual problems between its management in the glory of the Golden Team and Heads of Zuffa. Cooler heads ultimately prevailed and, according to Golden Glory Bas Boon leader, once they started the negotiations of the agreement drawn up without much trouble.

“It took patience and negotiation in good faith. I must admit that was softer than I expected,” Boon told MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday. “In Golden Glory Alistair Overeem very happy and has finally got his chance to become the UFC champion.”

Now that all the paperwork is signed and Overeem is officially a UFC fighter the next issue at hand becomes the preparation for his fight with Lesnar later this year.

The fight will be a five round fight with a main event title shot at the UFC heavyweight on the line. Expectations are high for what is already fighting could mean for the heavyweight division, and Boon was expected that even greater things.

“Alistair Overeem against Brock Lesnar and fireworks will be the best fight of PPV in UFC history,” he predicted.

The fight between Lesnar Overeem and be a great fight, no doubt, but former Strikeforce champion has said in interviews that he was offered actually a shot at the UFC heavyweight title on the first day, but he would not delay its debut and chose to fight Lesnar instead.

The move could be risky, but long Overeem coach Martijn de Jong, Golden Glory team says it is only the first step before he claims the UFC heavyweight title as his own.

“Alistair fight anyone on any day. We were not disappointed at all that we did not have a title fight right away,” said de Jong. “When the time is right, he will get the title fight and he will take that belt. You may call the collector belt.”

If Overeem is able to win the heavyweight title in UFC gold add that to your current stable or that includes the K-1 Grand Prix title Strikeforce heavyweight and heavyweight belts dream.

To prepare for Lesnar, Overeem is putting his training camp and will travel to Holland home soon to begin construction. Overeem had mentioned training in Los Angeles, and his manager revealed Bas Boon MMAWeekly.com that plans are in place for gold glory to house a team of California.

“We are opening a field of golden glory in California,” he said.

De Jong says he does not really matter where trains Overeem least, ensure that you have the best coaches and training partners need to be ready for his fight with Lesnar.

“Alistair will be training with all the guys in the glory of the gold team with some potential flight heavyweight fighters in our camp as well,” said de Jong. “We set up camp anywhere in the world: Netherlands, Thailand, or the U.S. We will discuss this with the team as soon as you return to Holland.”

The addition of heavyweight fighters to answer some of the issues to deal with fighting Lesnar great pedigree as a former NCAA champion Overeem.

But his coach believes that Overeem already has the skills to beat Lesnar at their own game, and if he thinks will be good for the Dutch demolition machine on the ground, has another thing coming.

“Alistair is a very well rounded fighter. Not only is a good striker, but also has a great presentation and fighting game. He was the former ADCC champion of Europe. Besides, I cannot even remember when it was taken in one of fights? “De Jong said.

“However, we will have a game plan ready for Brock and I personally I can say that this will be a great fight; 2011 will come with a bang”

Overeem will soon travel home and start preparing for Brock Lesnar and UFC debut to close the year at UFC 141 on Dec. 30 in Las Vegas.
