Steve Jobs, (AFP) – co-founder of Apple Steve Jobs is a legend in Silicon Valley, the man who gave the world not only a single iconic product, but also four.

The visionary behind the Macintosh computer, iPod, iPhone and iPad, Jobs announced Monday that he took sick leave for unspecified health problems.

Born February 24, 1955 in San Francisco to a single mother and adopted by a couple in the vicinity of Mountain View just a week, employment has grown up among the orchards that would one day become the technology center known as Silicon Valley.

As a high school student, employment attended lectures at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto neighborhood, and worked a summer job there with engineer Steve Wozniak.

Jobs left Reed College in Portland, Oregon, after one semester, but continued to take classes, including a calligraphy class, he cited as the reason Macintosh computers were designed with multiple fonts.

When he was 20, Jobs made a spiritual journey to India, returning with his head shaved and wearing traditional Indian dress.

He worked as a technician for video pioneer Atari game and attended a garage club called “Homebrew Computer Club” with Wozniak, a boy boy northern California, such as employment, was also College Dropout.

Jobs and Wozniak was 21 26 years old when they founded Apple Computer in the garage of the family home job in 1976.

Jobs, who became the most public face of Apple, went from celebrity bachelor days that included a relationship with folk singer Joan Baez to move into family life in Palo Alto.

He married in 1991 at a ceremony presided over by a Buddhist monk. He has three children by his wife and a daughter with a woman he dated before marrying.

Jobs left Apple in 1985 after an internal power struggle and started NeXT Computer Company specializing in advanced workstations for business.

He co-founded the Academy Award-winning Pixar in 1986 from a former computer graphics unit that Lucasfilm Steve Jobs reportedly bought the movie industry titan George Lucas for $ 10 million.

He became a fighter, creative studio that produced the film’s box-office hits including “Toy Story” and “Finding Nemo”.

Apple’s luster faded after Jobs left the company, but they reconciled in 1996 with Apple to buy neXT for $ 429 million and the growing use again on the throne of Apple.

Since then, employment has grown from strength to strength, the redesign of the Macintosh line, the launch of iPod MP3 digital music store in 2001 and the iTunes online music in 2003.

Jobs had surgery for pancreatic cancer in 2004 but rebounded three years later with the popular iPhone touch screen.

The Walt Disney Co. bought Pixar in a pending transaction of $ 7.4 billion in 2006, which gave Jobs a seat on its board of directors and making him the largest shareholder of entertainment titan.

Jobs has taken a medical leave in January 2009 but returned to work in June after undergoing a liver transplant, looking thin, but in reported good health.

In January 2010 Jobs unveiled his latest creation, IPAD, which is on sale in April and has set the industry standard for computer touch pad.

Under Jobs, Apple made its Macintosh computer systems more compatible with PCs running Windows programs and increased its share of a market long ruled by machines based on Microsoft software.

In May of last year, Apple has surpassed Microsoft as the technology company’s most important American value.

Known for his trademark black turtleneck shirt costume, blue jeans and running shoes, employment is subject to reviews in references musical sentence involving his favorite artists such as The Beatles and Bob Dylan.

By revealing his latest challenge to health Monday, Jobs said he would continue as chief executive officer “and participate in major strategic decisions for the company.”

“I just love Apple and hope to be back as soon as I can,” he said.

BAC, U.S. stock futures were pointing to a lower open Tuesday as investors digest before the onslaught of corporate earnings. Futures were able to recover from the selloff triggered by Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) and IBM (NYSE: IBM) announces earnings released yesterday after the bell.

Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) is trading lower in pre-market trading after the company reported its quarterly earnings report. Bank of America said the win and 0.27 & per share, well above the 0.16 per share and Wall Street analysts expected. Bank of America investors are clearly focused on the loss of income, as the only company declared and 26.7 billion. Themes where the banks continue their earnings are affected by the release of credit losses of their provisions, in the case of Bank of America, she said its provision for credit losses and is now 5.4 billion.

Goldman Sachs

Goldman Sachs, Note from Goldman Sachs examines the prospects for upward of 2011 + restocking initiatives on Columbia Sportswear Company (NASDAQ: COLM).

“We remain positive on the market on the basis of a decent income and expected actions of the Fed,” said Stewart Beach, which oversees and 1.1 billion as chief investment strategist at Old Second National Bank in Aurora, Illinois. “While earnings beat Citigroup, which is kind of surprising given the problems we see on the front of foreclosure.”

Citigroup rose 3.3 percent to 4.08 and the profit amounted to 2.17 billion, or 7 cents per share, compared with profit of 101 million, or a loss of 27 cents per share the same period a year earlier. Ten analysts surveyed by Bloomberg estimated earnings per share of 5 cents per share in the bank, the third largest in the United States by assets. Bank of America Corp., Wells Fargo & Co. and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. also plans to publish the results this week.

Industrial production

Stocks rose as production in the U.S. unexpectedly fell in September for the first time in over a year, showing the industry that leads the economy out of recession is cooling. Output in the factories, mines and utilities fell 0.2 percent, the first decline since the recession ended in June 2009, the Federal Reserve figures showed today.

Beatriz Recari, (AFP) – Rookies Recari Beatriz of Spain and Gwladys Nocera of France each fired six-under par 66 Friday to share the lead after the second round of the LPGA pharmacy CVS / Challenge.

The two stood on 10-134 under after 36 holes, one stroke ahead of Taiwan Hung Everything at the event $ 1.1 million, and the last event before the U.S. LPGA visits Malaysia South Korea, Japan and Mexico over the next four weeks.

Recari, 23, Nocera, 35, matched the lowest LPGA tours of their inaugural season.

Nocera opened with a bogey for a second straight day, but recovered with birdies at the par-3 fourth and par-5 fifth and finished the front nine with three birdies in a row and added birdies at the normal -4 and 13, a par-5 15.

“I’m not looking at what everyone does. I just concentrate on my game,” said Nocera. “I made a couple (putts), 6, 7, 8 and 9 and it helped me stay focused and concentrate on my game.”

Nocera has won 10 times on the European Tour, but seeks a crown breathrough United States. His best finish this year was a share of sixth at the State Farm Classic.

“I’m not going to set goals that are too high for me,” said Nocera. “Whatever happens until Sunday, I’ll take it.”

Recari took a bogey at the sixth, but began a stellar run with a birdie at nine, made another at 10, followed by an eagle at the par-5 birdies and 11 added to the par-3 12, par-4 -14 and by 3 16th to share the head.

“I played very well, leaving some pastry,” said Recari. “It seemed that the putts do not drop out if I said, ‘I must be calm. There are many holes there and a lot of possibilities.”

American Brittany Lincicome, who opened with a career-low 61 on Thursday to start the day with a four-stroke lead on the field, struggled to a 76 to share eighth, three strokes behind the leader.

“I knew today would not be easy but I do not think it would be so difficult,” said Lincicome. “I was just very nervous. I did not really know how to follow what I did.

“I should not have checked all the messages on my phone.”

Shared fourth on 136 were Americans Michele Redman, Wendy Ward and Stacy Lewis and South Korean Lee Ilhe.

American Cristie Kerr, who must finish first or second to go Ai Miyazato of Japan for the world number one fired a 68 to stand on 141, seven strokes behind the leaders.
