Based on a true story about local — and very special — students from the Forest Hills School district, the TV movie drew rave reviews from viewers across the country.

The made-for-TV move starring John Corbett as football coach Mike Kersjes — who wrote a book about taking 19 special education students to NASA Space Camp in 1989 — will air again this weekend, making its debut on the Hallmark Channel.

It will air at 8 and 10 p.m. Saturday an again at 2 p.m. Sunday. Another airing is scheduled for 4 p.m. Feb. 12 on the Hallmark Channel. (Here are the listings.)

The overnight TV ratings are expected to come out later today.

In a recent interview with Mike Hughes of MikeHuges.tv, actor John Corbett said for a moment he wasn’t sure about this role as Kersjes, a special-ed teacher, who was also a football coach.

“I didn’t really like my high school football coach,” Corbett told Hughes. “I thought of coaches as goons.”

Hughes wrote that all of that changed when Corbett met Kersjes.

“He’s gregarious,” Corbett said. “He likes a cocktail; he likes to laugh. He kind of looks like Dr. Phil.”
