2012 Mock NFL Draft, The Arizona Cardinals have multiple areas of their team they would like to improve upon at the 2012 NFL Draft and it seems like there is a new mock draft out daily. While all eyes will be on the Super Bowl this weekend, many scouts and coaches are busily preparing for workouts and the NFL Combine, which will take place in a few short weeks. The Cardinals will have the No. 13 overall pick at their disposal this year.

According to ESPN’s Todd McShay, Arizona will be selecting an offensive lineman in the first round.

13. David DeCastro, G, Stanford

This might seem a bit high for a guard, but DeCastro was the most dominant interior offensive lineman in the nation in 2011 and has a chance to develop into one of the elite NFL players at his position. Offensive tackle is also a need area, but DeCastro is a much better overall player than the top available tackle. Cornerback could also be a consideration, but both Janoris Jenkins (North Alabama) and Dre Kirkpatrick (Alabama) carry off-field baggage.

There is no denying the Cardinals desperately need to bolster their o-line this offseason, and DeCastro is a top-tier lineman on just about every draft board. He earned a name for himself at Stanford with a stellar work ethic and played in a pro style offense. He may not have the upside to become a star, but there’s a very strong chance he blossoms into a very reliable interior lineman for a long time in the NFL.
