2012 Corvette C72012 Corvette C7, Employees Chevrolet will fill the next 30 months. The General Motors brand will bring several new products to market, and is scheduled to redesign almost all its products by 2014. Here is a summary of the changes are in store as predictedby Automotive News and our sources.

Spark: Based on the Korean Daewoo Matiz hatchback on the market, the spark comes Stateside in mid-2012 as a model 2013. The Spark is already on sale in Europe and South Africa. When you open the way to the U.S., the five-door model should bring a small – possibly moving to 1.2 or 1.4 liters – inline-four engine that can return up to 40 mpg on the highway. To be built next to its parent Daewoo in Korea and exported to our shores.

Sonic: The Sonic serves as a welcome replacement for the Aveo. Production begins this August with both a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback in the order form. Sonic is much more mature than the Aveo, and is expected to record up to 87,000 annual sales. Engine choices are the same as in biggest Cruze sedan, a line 1.8-liter with 138 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque and a turbocharged 1.4-liter inline four with 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft. The sedan is expected that about 60 percent of Sonic’s sales, Chevrolet expect the hatchback version will compete with the Honda Fit and Ford Fiesta.

Cruze: new compact sedan Chevrolet has quickly become a success. Sales last month rose by 153 percent over the predecessor of the Cruze, the Cobalt, and the Cruze at the second best selling Chevrolet in June 2011. The next step is adding a diesel model, confirmed to arrive here in 2013. The company will not say what engine for the Cruze will build, but the European versions of the Cruze can be equipped with a 2.0-liter four turbodiesel. An update of the half cycle in 2014 Cruze could also announce the introduction of a hatchback, a hatch Cruze is already on sale in Europe.

Volt: Although initial sales were slow, yet Chevrolet expects to sell between 10,000 and 16,000 copies of its plug-in hybrid in late 2011. No change is likely before 2014, the year 2012; the Volt was a slight drop in prices and changes in the team a few. Will also be available in all 50 U.S. states in November, initially sold only a few launch markets.

Malibu, a brand new sedan, the 2013 Malibu is scheduled to go on sale in mid-2012 and sold more than 100 countries on six continents. Leading powertrain of our coasts is a 2.5-liter inline four with 190 horsepower, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The combo is said to return up to 30 mpg. First, however, Chevrolet will launch the Eco Malibu, Chevy first used the new GM hybrid technology eAssist. As seen in the Buick, Eco eAssist help the return to Malibu 38 mpg on the highway. Eco debut in early 2012.

Impala: 2012 Impala gets a 3.6-liter direct injection V-6 instead of age of 3.5 and 3.9 liter V-6, and redesign the grid minor. These adjustments will tide the sedan until mid-2013 when the 2014 Impala will debut. The new car will be built along with the 2013 Malibu and the Impala ride on a stretched version of the Malibu Epsilon II platform. The 2014 Impala will be mostly front-wheel drive, but with AWD, and eAssist hybrid variants are also possibilities.

Corvette: It seems like every week we hear more rumors about the future of Chevy sports car favorite. While it is unlikely that the Corvette engine is moved from the front half of the car, many signs are traditional C7 Corvette V-8 engine will be joined by a twin-turbo V-6. Sacrilege, I know, but necessary COFFEE face tighter regulations and gas prices. Until the new Corvette debut in fall 2013 as 2014 model, the current C6 soldier mostly unchanged.

Camaro: The next version of the Camaro will be released in 2014. Jump to the front-engine, rear-wheel-Alpha platform unit that is based on the future of Cadillac ATS. First, however, the fire-breathing ZL1 Camaro will bow in early 2012 with at least 550 horsepower. And if the good films are your things, Chevy has recently published a new edition Camaro Transformers-inspired action film of the same name.

Equinox: Chevrolet’s small crossover will be unchanged until 2013 or 2014, when a new generation is due. What you could win a hybrid eAssist option for 2014. With 149,949 sales in 2010, the equinox was Chevrolet’s best-selling SUV / crossover, and brand of vehicle sold in fourth overall.

Itinerary: Like the Equinox, we expect the Traverse to be redesigned for the 2013 or 2014 with a major interior renovation in store for this crossing. A 3.0-liter V-6 engine will replace the current 3.6-liter unit when it debuts the new generation of around 2016 or so.

Tahoe and Suburban: Despite the rumors before, these giant SUV will be built on GM’s big truck platform and does not change a crossover design. Fuel economy could be improved by the addition of eight-speed automatic transmission, and possibly an advanced four-mode hybrid system. The new SUV will debut on a chassis of a new truck for 2014.

Avalanche: This truck is almost certain to disappear from model year 2013. Was reintroduced in the 2002 model year and sold mostly in the premise of your Midgate flexible – the avalanche could be configured as a van, SUV, or some combination of both. Avalanches only 20,515 sold last year, we doubt that will be sorely missed.

Colorado: The Colorado compact truck was killed in mid-2012 when the Shreveport, Louisiana factory building is closed. A successor will follow? It is not clear. Chevrolet unveiled the Colorado Hall of trucks back in March, but hinted that the next generation of previews of Colorado has been designed for places like Thailand, South America and other emerging markets. However, rumors indicate that the Chevy will sell in the U.S. next gentruck 2013.

Silverado 1500: As the largest Chevrolet truck, a series of improvements will help make the Silverado more fuel efficient and therefore more competitive with the Ford F-150. We have heard GM expects to shave at least 500 pounds per truck by 2016, all without losing the content and security features provided by NHTSA and buyers alike. Would not surprise me if the new trucks use more aluminum, magnesium and other alloys agile to make the metric system. New designs of propulsion system will also help cut fuel use. The next generation of GM V-8, which will have direct fuel injection, ability to use E85, and reported the “advanced combustion design” is a staple. Other reports suggest that other six-cylinder engines are under consideration, including a turbo variant. As with the Tahoe / Suburban, an eight-speed automatic transmission – perhaps the very slated to be built in Toledo, Ohio – and an evolved version of GM 2-Mode hybrid is expected to be offered. Do not expect these patches overnight, as GM executives have previously indicated the company will not rush the line to market. As it stands, we expect the next generation of Silverado to debut in late 2013 as a model 2014.

2500/3500 Silverado: GM extensively reworked what’s under the skin of its heavy-duty pickups for the 2011 model year, so now is the time to reboot the system to match with cosmetics. A reform is expected to arrive in the model year is 2014 or 2015. We are also told a successor to the popular 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 should arrive around 2015 or so.
