Amazon.com ‘s mobile application is already great for shopping and comparing prices when you travel. Users can punch in what they want and see the price on Amazon.com or even buy. It’s even cooler to see if the price of an object in front of you is a better deal than you could get by shopping online.

Intensifying price comparison of Amazon Mobile features, the application has been updated to allow use of the iPhone’s camera as a barcode reader. Now you can return an item you are looking for in a retail brick and mortar, scan the barcode, and instantly pull up the list on Amazon. This has the potential to save people much money.

Facebook has recently published Places application allows users to “check in” at different locations using Facebook mobile app. Essentially, it allows your Facebook friends to see where you are and what you do – as an update geotagged.

Archiving is an application that runs through your Facebook friends are those that are currently controlled using places, and adds them to a Google map on your iPhone. Instantly, you can see where your friends are against you, which makes it easier to meet-ups. It’s a good idea and it will not cost you anything.

This is somewhat of a niche market, but for customers Verizon FiOS there, it is also pretty cool.

The FiOS TV application turns your iPhone into a remote control that operates your set-top box FiOS. The application has all the main functions of a regular FiOS remote, with the added benefit of having access to the iPhone keyboard to type in the names of programs and the programs you are looking for.

Another function is cool is that FiOS Remote app lets you stream photos from your iPhone to your television screen, and move through them using the drag on the iPhone. Now you can instantly project your holiday photos in front of guests stranded and watch their mouths hanging open!
