T.j. Houshmandzadeh

T.j. Houshmandzadeh, Baltimore reached agreement Sunday with WR TJ Houshmandzadeh, who was abandoned by the Seahawks this weekend after playing just one season of five years and 40 million pacts signed a year ago.

Houshmandzadeh confirmed the deal to the U.S. TODAY.

With Houshmandzadeh guaranteed and 7 million in 2010, Seattle will be on the hook for most of their salary, while Baltimore is activated and 855 000.

Houshmandzadeh receiving further provides depth to a team that is ready for air after having acquired WR Anquan Boldin in the offseason. With other additions, WR Donte Stallworth ‘indefinitely sidelined with a broken foot, Houshmandzadeh is likely to take over the slot as he learns the playbook.

Houshmandzadeh should move the chains – which has averaged 87 catches per year since 2004 – but does not stretch the field like Stallworth fleet and has managed only 10.5 yards per catch in the last three years. However, he has worked with quarterback Matt Hasselbeck mediocre game with a limp lately in Seattle in 2009, while the noodle-armed Ryan Fitzpatrick was the person who called the primary signal of Cincinnati in 2008, when he was still with the Bengals Houshmandzadeh.
