Susan Boyle MusicalSusan Boyle Musical, The meteoric rise to fame of the Scottish singer Susan Boyle has to be brought to life in a new stage musical, the producers said Friday. The actress Elaine C. Smith – best known for playing Maria in the long Scottish sitcom “Rab C Nesbitt” – will play Boyle, who was catapulted to fame in the media “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2009. Boyle, 50, has since sold over 14 million copies of their two albums, “I Dreamed a Dream” (2009) and “The Gift” (2010).

The stage show, also called “I Dreamed A Dream”, will open next year and turn Newcastle for at least six months. “I never thought I would end my life story on stage, but many things have happened in two years and is a very exciting prospect,” said Boyle. “I hope you all enjoy the show and I promise there will be some surprises along the way.”

Producer Michael Harrison said: “She is an inspiring woman and her story is excellent to say – someone with a natural talent that will surprise the world and supersedes all odds to make a new life.

“He has all the qualities of a fairy tale, but with the added advantage of being absolutely true.”

The exhibition opens at the Theatre Royal Newcastle next March, with tickets on sale next month.

The producers have so far lined up a 26-week tour with dates in the UK, USA and Australia.

Despite the second coming of “Britain’s Got Talent,” Boyle has reached global success.

In 2010, topped the U.S. charts and the United Kingdom album at the same time twice in the space of a year – the first artist to do so since The Beatles in 1969.
