'Survivor' Star Appealing Jail Term‘Survivor’ Star Appealing Jail Term, TV star Richard Hatch filed notice that it will appeal the federal court to defend his nine months in jail for not paying taxes on their 1,000,000 and “Survivor” winnings.

Hatch filed the notice of appeal written by hand in the U.S. June 29 District Court in Providence, RI He is representing himself.

U.S. District Judge William E. Smith on May 9 Hatch rejected the request to leave prison sentence.

Hatch spent more than three years in prison for not paying taxes on the million and won the first season of “Survivor.” He was released in 2009 and ordered to re-file its 2000 and 2001 tax returns and pay what he owed. A judge ruled in March never made it and returned to prison.
