SUPERSTITION MOUNTAINS DUTCHMAN TREASURE, A father and his three young children planning to spend the Thanksgiving weekend together have died after a small plane they were in slammed into the Superstition Mountains in the United States.

The Perry family – father and pilot Shawn, 39, and Morgan, 9, Logan, 8, and Luke, 6 – and two other men Russell Hardy, 31, and Joseph Hardwick, 22, were in the twin-engine plane when it hit the cliff in the mile-high mountains east of Phoenix on Wednesday local time and exploded, killing everyone in board.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said he had tried to comfort the mother of the children.

“It’s traumatic for any parent to hear this, and then just the nature of the crash is horrific,” he told US television network ABC.

“We just want to be there for her and love her and embrace her during this difficult time at Thanksgiving.”

The body of one child was recovered and dozens of sheriff’s search and rescue personnel worked to recover the remains of the other victims, Sheriff Babeu said.
