STX, Following the government’s failure to sign the agreement STX Korea earlier this month, and comments that arise, the Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin said that the reputation of Korea and its president is at stake and for that reason, it will ensure that the deal pulls through.

Mr. Bagbin explained further: “According to the last meeting we had with them, the installation is based primarily on Global Infrastructure Fund in Korea and that they are committed to it because your reputation and your President and their state are at stake. ”

Mr. Bagbin, in an interview on Radio Gold Suhini Alhassan, a private radio station based in Accra, said the delay in signing the agreement does not affect the timetable for the execution and delivery of houses. He also tried to allay fears that the operation was under no threat; saying that the agreement is evident in the sovereign guarantee will be used.

“We are still going on … the Project Implementation Committee and the Technical Committee will hold meetings to find solutions to some of the challenges, especially in the area of land acquisition and registration of documents,” he said.

In a related development, despite several hiccups actualising the controversial 10 billion home fronts between the Government of Ghana and Korea’s STX, the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing has stated categorically that there is no way National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to pay attention to critics.

The Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has therefore noted that the Government of Ghana and its Korean partners remain firmly committed to the historic housing project despite recent progress in the project.

A press release issued in Accra and signed by Alban Bagbin, said the postponement only the signing ceremony in no way be misinterpreted as a sign that the project was not executed.

“The contractual arrangements that have been approved by the Parliament of Ghana, to be binding on all parties and can not in any way be compromised for the sake of political gain,” he said.
