Strictly Come Dancing Final, McFly drummer Harry Judd won this year’s series of “Strictly Come Dancing” after a glitzy final at Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom on Saturday, in a show watched by a reported 12 million people.

Judd, 25, beat Australian performer Jason Donovan and actress Chelsee Healey to win the ninth series of the BBC television show, where celebrities pair off with professional dance partners.

The Essex musician and his partner, Kazakhstani dancer Aliona Vilani, won the glitterball trophy at the end of the three-month series.

“I have just had the most incredible experience,” he said.

“I was so nervous when I first started, and I didn’t think I would be able to do it. But somehow Aliona has got me through it.”

Judd scored his first perfect 40 for his opening dance, a quickstep to The Pretenders’ “Don’t Get Me Wrong”.

Judge Bruno Tonioli said: “You came, you danced, and you conquered Blackpool with a quickstep delivered with flash and dash.”

Head judge Len Goodman added: “If you were a stick of Blackpool rock, you would have ‘talent’ written right through you.”
