Stores Open On Christmas Day

Stores Open On Christmas Day, Most businesses and services in Whatcom County are closed Christmas Day – including all major grocery stores – but a few places will be open for those seeking coffee, a meal or some batteries for the kids’ toys. Most gas stations with automated pumps will be open, but some requiring a clerk will be closed.
Here are businesses that responded to a solicit for places open at least part of Sunday, Dec. 25. All are in Bellingham unless otherwise noted.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
AW Asian Bistro, 12th and Mill streets in Fairhaven, open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Happy hour 3 to 5:30 p.m.
Cap’s lounge, 209 E. Chestnut St., open 7 p.m. on Christmas until 1:30 a.m. Dec. 26. Happy hour all night.
Cruisin Coffee, 800 Alabama St., open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The coffee stand at Alabama and James streets near Trader Joe’s is the only Cruisin in Whatcom County open Christmas Day.
Greene’s Corner, intersection of Smith Road and Northwest Drive, open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s a small grocery with extensive beer and wine selections. Also serving coffee drinks, pizza, soups and sandwiches.
Guido’s Italian Cuisine and Lounge, 5611 3rd St. in Ferndale, opens at 4 p.m. Details: 360-656-6122.
Harborside Bistro, 1 Bellwether Way at the Hotel Bellwether, open for breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. All-day lounge menu served 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. A special Christmas dinner served 1 to 6 p.m.; call 360-392-3200 for reservations.
Horseshoe Café, 113 E. Holly St. The Ranch Room is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. serving drinks and limited food. Details: 360-734-0380.
India Grill, 1215 Cornwall Ave., open for lunch and dinner.
Jack in the Box, 1020 W. Bakerview Road, drive-though open all day, restaurant seating available 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Pierside restaurant at Semiahmoo resort, Christmas buffet – $32.95 adult, $14.95 children 6-12, free children 5 and under – served 2 to 8 p.m. Reservations recommended, 360-318-2000; see menu at www.semiahmoo.com.
Shorty’s Coffee Shop, a coffee drive-through at 5719 Barrett Road, across from Denny’s in Ferndale, open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Offering Christmas specials on drinks and food.
Shots 2 Go, 119 E. Smith Road (behind the Chevron station), open 8 a.m. to noon. Christmas special of any 16-ounce seasonal drink only $2.99 (plus tax, excludes blended drinks).
Starbucks, location in Sehome Village open 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Bakerview store, 1031 W. Bakerview Road, and Sunset Square locations open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other Bellingham, Ferndale and Lynden locations closed.
Two Sisters Coffee, 6911 Hannegan Road, open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Waterfront Seafood & Bar, 521 W. Holly St., open 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Serving Christmas turkey dinner starting at noon for $9.25; full menu available as well. Texas hold ‘em tournaments start at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Details: 360-676-1755.
Blockbuster: Bakerview location open noon to 9 p.m., Lynden store open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., location inside Barkley Haggen closed.
Silver Reef Hotel Casino Spa, 4876 Haxton Way near Ferndale, open 24 hours.
Skagit Valley Casino, off Interstate 5 at exit 236, opens at 9 a.m. Christmas dinner buffet served 2 to 9 p.m. for $15.25 with Rewards Card, $17.95 without.

Acme General Store, 2035 Valley Highway, Acme, open 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Walgreens, Bellingham locations at 4090 Meridian St. and 1070 E. Sunset Drive open 24 hours including pharmacy. Ferndale store at 1901 Main St. open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., but pharmacy is closed.
