Steve Jobs Biography Rights Bought By Sony?, Sony Pictures Entertainment, the studio that produced high-speed films and high profile “This Is It” by Michael Jackson and “The Social Network”, by Mark Zuckerberg, might do it again with Apple cofounder Steve Jobs. The study concluded late last week agreed to buy the film rights to the authorized biography “Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacson, according to a person briefed on the agreement and spoke on condition of anonymity because the study had not authorized a public statement.
A Sony spokesman declined comment. Word is finishing the discussion was published Friday on the website Deadline.com.
After Jobs’ death Wednesday, Simon & Schuster, which is the book’s publication, he moved up its release date by one month to October 24.
And advance orders have been brisk, as readers hungry for more information about a leader who has become the embodiment of creativity and enterprise that has appeared to fail in much of the corporate culture.
Historically, movies have evolved gradually, and rarely topical issues, as the circumstances, the interest and the national mood was changing often in the years it took to get an image on the track. But that has changed, as the studies took advantage of the faster production techniques digital, and showed a new willingness to keep pace with the increasing pace of the world media. After the death of Michael Jackson, the study had their concert film, “This Is It”, in theaters a few months. “The Social Network”, which was made even though the study has not acquired the rights to Zuckerberg’s life, was being written even as the book that was partly based, Ben Mezrich “The Accidental Billionaires” is being rushed to publication.
Agreeing to pay a million and reported progress against a total of 3 million if the film is produced by the book, Job, Sony is definitely in a position to join their production partners – the team MG/360 that Mark Gordon and 360 pairs of management – to put a movie on the screen, while working memory is fresh and achievements.
