Stephen Hawking Big Bang Theory

Stephen Hawking Big Bang Theory, CBS and Fox were the winners Thursday night, when viewing levels were depressed before the holiday weekend. CBS had the most viewers, and Fox edged CBS for the lead in young adults.

Still, CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” was the favorite show of the 18-to-49 age group. “Big Bang” featured a guest appearance by Stephen Hawking, who shared a memorable scene with Emmy-winner Jim Parsons.

“The Big Bang Theory” opened the night for CBS with 13 million viewers. The audience level dipped to 8.8 million for “Rules of Engagement.” CBS finished its night with “Person of Interest” with 13.5 million and “The Mentalist” with 12.5 million.

“American Idol” drew 13.8 million viewers, but more people were watching “The Big Bang Theory” in the same half-hour they share. The Fox audience dipped to 7.4 million for “Touch.”

ABC offered ”Missing” (7.2 million), “Grey’s Anatomy” (8.1 million) and the premiere of “Scandal” (7.4 million). NBC’s strongest performer was “Community” with 3.1 million viewers, and “30 Rock” amused 2.8 million.
