Steelers QB Leftwich Breaks Arm

Veteran Byron Leftwich suffered a broken left arm in Saturday’s 34-16 victory against the Falcons. He probably will be placed on injured reserve and miss the entire season, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
With Leftwich out of combat, the battle for the No. 2 job behind Roethlisberger will be between aging Charlie Batch and fourth-year man Dennis Dixon. The two had been fighting for the third quarterback position. Now is therefore likely that the roster.
Leftwich, to begin his ninth NFL season, had been a starter in the Jaguars, Falcons and Bucs. In 2003 first-round pick from Marshall played a game in Pittsburgh last season, his second season with the Steelers.
